The retired chief financial officer pleaded guilty to two counts of perjury at a brief hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court stemming from his testimony in the attorney general’s investigation of the former president’s civil fraud case, which recently ended with a staggering judgment against Trump and his company execs totaling nearly half a billion dollars.

Weisselberg admitted he lied during his testimony on October 10 and months previously in his May deposition.

Trump seems to surround himself with a lot of criminals, seems to be a pattern.
 
This dudes GPS suggests Rikers every time he gets in the car. I think he pled guilty to this because there is a ton of way worse stuff that hasn't come out yet. Stuff that would send him to Rikers for a lot longer than a few months. I think they are all going to go down for a very long time. Can't happen to a nicer family.

Back in 2015 or 2016 I recall reading about Trump being warned that if he ran for President that his entire history would be deep screened.

IMO, they would have gotten away with their crimes in NYC and on Pedo Island if he’ never run for President. Trump dug his own grave.

FWIW, the same goes for the “Birth Certificate” bullshit on Obama; if he wasn’t 100% legit, either the Republicans or the Democrats, namely Hillary, would have found the evidence and used it. This is why I trust that Obama really was born in Hawaii.

Completely agree. Con men need to stay as anonymous as possible. Trump shone the light on himself AND the cockroaches that were doing his bidding. Also, to your point, I believe Bidennmay be the most vetted person in history given he was being picked by the first black presidential candidate in history. Just sayin’ :)

I honestly thought about trying to create a Venn Diagram, going back to pre Trump's 2016 pre election campaign staff and creating circles that show the following overlapping circles:

- Trump campaign staff from pre 2016 that ended up indicted or convicted
- Trump WH staff after inaugoration who ended up indicted or convicted
- Trump campaign staff from 2020 that ended up indicted or convicted
- Trump lawyers who end up disciplined, disbarred or indicted or convicted
- Trump varied business Org convictions or Civil losses
- Trump personal Indictments and Civil Suits


And in all honest the reason i have not done it is how daunting a task it would be.

This list as of Dec 2024 had over 70 such actions (sanction/disbarment/indict/conviction) against Trump lawyers alone for misdeeds done on behalf of Trump. And that is JUST the lawyers. Yikes.

In business, yes, but having “White House” on one’s resume is quite a door-opener. Notice the people who were on the staff then left when they realized all the crooked shit Trump was asking them to do.

Certainly some people would sell their integrity to have a White House staff position on their resume.

On the other hand, these were college educated, privileged white people from affluent families who undoubtedly could have successful careers without having to prostrate themselves to Trump.

And it is fraught with risk. If you can get in and out, fine. But if you stay, and you are in a key position you can simply expect Trump to push you to the illegal things so he does not have to.

I cannot understand Tim Scott or anyone with prospects wanting to be Trump's VP, rather than sitting out 4 years and then running.

Should Trump win, it is assured he will push his VP worse than he did Pence to lead the illegal stuff, and if he refuses, then like Pence, he will be exiled in the party and career will be over. If he does Trump's bidding, then like Meddows and all those now facing charges that VP will be right in the legal crosshairs too as soon as Trump's term ends.

In 2016, Trump was a well-known blustering blowhard, but very few people thought he’d become a traitor or put his needs above those of the nation contrary to his oath. While you are right that some people would trade their integrity for a resume bullet, I think most would not. When they found out that Trump wanted their loyalty over integrity, they started leaving.

I don’t fault those who worked for Trump in the early days. I don’t fault who chose to stick around to protect the nation from Trump. I only fault those who traded their honor, integrity and/or souls to work for Trump for personal gain.

Remember “the Resistance”? They were career WH staff. I don’t expect people to quit their jobs simply because the new boss is a fucking moron. I do expect them to do their jobs as they were hired or sworn to do.
