Everyone knows what happened on January 6th. We have endless video. And we know the Capitol was under attack for 3 hours - while Trump sat & watched. He could have stopped it at any time.

Do you think he displayed leadership on that day? Do you think he acted responsibly? Do you think someone like that should have another chance to be President?

Why should he be allowed to run? That's the question I have. Watching what happened on 1/6, I think most assumed that was it for his future political viability.

The most ignored section of that amendment:

Section 5.
The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Section 1 is also important where it says that no state can deprive someone of their rights without due process, like this would have, but Section 5... that one was a doozy...

Had Trump been convicted of insurrection according to USC 18 § 2383 - (Rebellion or insurrection) they would have had both the 1st and 5th sections covered... but nobody charged the man, because they knew they couldn't win.

If Trump does not win in November, he WILL be charged. It is not because they knew they couldn't win. It's because the case would have had no shot at going to trial before the election. After the election, Smith will no longer be bound by that concern, and he will indict MULTIPLE people for their attempt to steal the election. There are unindicted co-conspirators named in his election interference case. They WILL be indicted.
