Hedge fund manager calls out Biden for inflation...

Yesterday we had one of our dumber posters here, TOP, claim that even if things are getting better, there are still people who are not good with credit cards and who take on too much debt and thus feel burdened and thus Biden and America are to blame.

it is a growing right wing, magat, call that demands Big Government get involved in personal finances and control their spending and access to debt (credit cards, etc) to ensure they make good decisions and thus can feel better... OR... the government is to blame.

Now we see this same thinking from a Hedge Fund Billionaire who believes if Biden and Big Government DO NOT step in and manage his discretionary choices and prevent him from buying a single waffle for $26 or orange juice for $14, that is the fault of government and inflation.

Man complains about New York City room service prices
Billionaire hedge-fund founder Kyle Bass took to Twitter/X on Wednesday, writing “terrible inflation milestone reached,” as he had his “first $85 breakfast for one at a NYC hotel.” Enough is enough, and apparently he has now decided “never again.”

He uses the hashtags “#Biden” and “#Inflation,” and shares a picture of the bill. He also tags Janet Yellen, the Secretary of the Treasury, because she definitely doesn’t have bigger things to worry about than this guy’s room service....

- He spent $22 on drinks, including $14 on an orange juice and $8 on a Diet Coke (an interesting combination of breakfast drinks, but whatever…)
- He spent $38 on food, including $26 on waffles and $12 on bacon
- The bill came with a $9 cover charge for in-room dining, plus an automatic gratuity of ~14.8% (which seems kind of random, unless I’m missing something)
- He left an additional $15 tip, bringing the total to $100.32;...

The above and TOP's position perfectly encapsulate the new Magat right, a RINO party, and how it differs from the prior Republican party, claimed ethos.

Prior the republican party was the claimed party of personal responsibility and pulling oneself up by their bootstraps.

Today's Magat Party is one that says 'sure the economy is doing better and i am earning more... but i make bad choices and run up my credit card or i stay in the most expensive NY Hotels and buy ridiculous expensive room service... and that is governments fault and they need to prevent it.'

Today's Magat party does not just want to expand the government into the bedrooms but also into every aspect desiring a massive gov't so big it can manage everyone's personal finances and stop them making bad spending choices. Because if they buy a $26 on a single waffle and regret it later... well that is Bidens fault.

Over three years ago, MAGA morons practically guaranteed us that if America dared to elect Biden there would be an unprecedented economic depression of apocalyptic proportions.

They didn't tell us that ordering in- room breakfast service at a fancy five star New York City hotel would cost a lot.

There is definitely a big discordance between claiming to be a conservative and then fussing that the government -- well, esp. BIDEN in particular -- "isn't doing anything" about families struggling with their personal finances. Now if the (D)s were to propose something like an annual guaranteed income, or even a one-time stimulus check, Toxic TOP and the other MAGATs would scream to the high heavens about "socialism."

Remember when conservatives supported capitalism and free enterprise? Recently Toxic scolded Taylor Swift for the cost of her concert tickets because "people can't afford them." Swift is supposed to provide her talents for free or at least super cheap, apparently. So much for being a conservative. lol

Yet the very same MAGATards gnash their teeth and howl over student loan forgiveness, food stamps, Medicaid, and all other social welfare programs that help Toxic's "struggling families." Somehow Biden is supposed to fix it so that everyone can buy groceries and Taylor Swift tickets, but not use a dime of their precious tax money to do it. What's next? He should cure cancer, raise the dead, and forgive us all our trespasses? lol

The federal government is not going to rescue people from making the decision to order in-room meal service at fancy five star hotels in New York City.

Yup.

They went from declaring a 'certain Recession and possible Depression' to saying, as TOP and this hedge fund billionaire say 'we are not responsible for our spending decisions and we feel shitty after we make bad choices and that is on Biden'.

Magats think only their 'feelings' matter and increasingly that is the ONLY argument they have against the success of Bidenomics. They basically concede, as TOP did, that things are going great but say 'ya but i still make bad choices and feel terrible so that is on Biden'.

Making shitty predictions directly affects one's credibility.

Backtracking from predicting an apocalyptic economic depression to complaining about the price of room service at a fancy five star hotel is right up there with all the predictions of imminent red wave elections.

QPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Derp, derp, derp
Your post is proof you are stupid. Anyone who claims inflation is not caused by poor choices made at the government level is equally as stupid as you.

Take the day off and ponder, how does the asshole cut off turds when it has no teeth.

And you think your post makes you smart that you think this guys complaint is a function of 'inflation' and not luxury hotel price gauging?

And just to try and educate you, despite knowing you are so stupid this might not stick. Inflation is ALSO caused by a World Wide shut down of industry during a pandemic.

If you understand, even remotely, how supply and demand work, and how the pandemic cuts off supply, causing demand to bottleneck and then when you turn back on supply that will take time to ramp up, that is how you end up with WORLD WIDE inflation and no country, no matter the choices they make (good or bad) can avoid it, as the cost of goods coming in from OTHER countries is skyrocketing.

But i understand ecom 101 is a topic well above your pay grade.

QPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, derp, derp, derp. Do you not understand the fact once inflation is let loose, EVERY seller of goods uses that as an excuse to raise prices, and the sad part you idiot, is the fact that most never return to their pre inflation prices.
Jesus you are stupid.

I have no words for the pure stupidity of this guy. He sure as hell would never get a dime of my money.

Yes, he is out of his depth. I have not yet encountered a Trumper who understand the law of supply and demand, or the concept of ROI. They just say stupid hit constantly without understanding what they said.

wrong.

the shutdown of industry is a supply constriction, a legitimate price raiser.

but what's happening NOW is a function of stimulus and bailout money and zero percent fractional reserve banking, new world order shit.

...

Yes i am the one who educate you Magats on this as you keep crying 'but prices are still high'.

Over and over i post graphs showing that Consumers goods only ever go up over time and no Potus is going to turn prices back.

It is also the left (myself and others)who point out to you the corporate gauging which is not Bidens (or any Potus fault) while you and other Magats were trying to deny that.

None of that changes the FACT that when you have World Wide Inflation due to a Pandemic, that NO POTUS can stop the US suffering inflation.

What a POTUS can do is deal with it better than any other country, as Biden has and then focus on things that grow wages and GDP so that people end up generating more personal wealth than the inflation. As Biden again is doing brilliantly.

So I am glad LyingFish that you seem to have learned what i, and others have been trying to teach you for a long time, even if you forget, due to your stupidity, it was us, on the left telling you this.

OPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee, derp, derp, derp, surely those $5/gal fuel prices had nothing to do with inflation right after brandon declared he was going to put the oil companies out of business.

Hopefully, you will understand that a president can have a DIRECT effect on inflation. Then again, you are very stupid.

Did Joe Biden Really Say He’d ‘Close Down the Oil Industry’?

wrong.

:truestory:

Yes we are aware of your attempt to always split hairs on this but here are the facts of the matter.

the shutdown caused massive cost increased across the line. And what you call legitimate price raiser, average consumers see as inflation when they show up to the local store and have to pay way more for everything. NONE OF THEM say 'oh don't worry, that is not inflation and is just "legitimate price raises'. so this attempted distinction is meaningless here as Biden IS being blamed for this aspect too under the label of inflation.

Excess profit taking is also 'legitimate price raiser' I would guess you would not categorize that under inflation either. But again, like above, no is trying to factor that out so Biden is not blamed.

And yes, stimulus and bailout money also causes inflation, which we accept but use anyway when not doing so, during catastrophic events such a world wide pandemic, or the 2007/8 Banking collapse could instead plunge the world into Recession or depression as we learned in both the great depression and great recession when the gov't held back allowing the 'markets to go where they headed' resulting in massive harm to all citizens.

If the US did not look to bailouts during covid a significant percent of business and homeowners would have went bust way beyond what we experienced, thus leading to depressed spending in the future, thus starting a deflationary period which is even worse than inflation.
