As Trump proclaims "The Party is Unified like Never Before" coming out of S.Carolina...

There is no denying that the party is NOT "unified" and NOT consolidating behind Trump.

He has the core Magat vote locked up but both he and Joe Biden are running Incumbent Primary campaigns and only Biden is performance is anywhere near what you would expect of an incumbent campaign, with support numbers in the 90%+ range. if Biden was getting 55% +/- there is no doubt he would have to step down.

Trump's consistent 55%+/- 5% range is simply terrible for anyone running as the Incumbent, especially one who has the entire party apparatus behind him and pretty much every vocal, prominent GOP Congress person behind him.

There is no way the party voters should not have folded in behind him and for him to not be getting Biden like numbers when it is so clear he WILL be the candidate and thus staying with his primary opponents is futile. So what that 45% is showing is that even when they know they cannot win, they still will not support Trump.

Instead what we see is a near locked 45% +/- 5% who are never Trumpers within the Republi'can' party.

59% of Haley voters have said they would never vote Trump and would vote Biden, if Trump is the candidate. That represents about 24% of all Republi'cans' and one year ago a NYT/Siena Poll said 25% were Never Trumpers a year ago, which means that number is consistent and locked.

Agreed, but even Trump fans know Trump is the best bullshitter in US politics.

FWIW, I'd rather look at and listen to Nikki for four years than Trump for the rest of this year. He's a goof, a liar and a whiner.

The GOP party is a mess. They can't govern, their ideas are medieval. I'm feeling pretty good about Democrat's chances in November!

The election will be a close election, similar to 2020, and 2016, regardless of what the polls say, it will be tight

To the MAGA cult, it is already over, Trump can not lose, if he does, it was fixed, and with four years to prepare, we will have the coup II, and this time it will be worse

The good news is that, if Trump loses, some of his fans will become violent and it will be our best chance of getting rid of these autocrats once and for all. :flagsal:

I agree it will be a close race. Regarding the coup, however, intelligence agencies are monitoring the chatter among cult organizations like the oaf keepers and proud girls, this time. Also, the will be National Guard Troops surrounding the Capitol this time. In short, we'll be ready.

As much as I'd love to see the National Guard use these WSE assholes for target practice, I strongly doubt there'll be another coup attempt.

Reason #1 is to notice how quickly the militias disappeared like cockroaches into the woodwork. Why? Because it was all fun and games until people started being arrested and sentenced to years of prison. That's not the retirement plan most middle-aged, middle-class men are looking forward to having. Playing with their Turner Diaries fantasy was fun, but when shit got real, they folded....which was the smart thing to do.

Reason #2, they'll use the same tactics as al-Qaeda once their structure was crushed so no need for a massed attack...which they know they'd lose. They'll turn to the Internet and try to recruit Lone Wolf nutjobs to conduct attacks such as the Buffalo grocery store and the Oklahoma federal building.

And i think the main reason you will not see another Derp uprising for Trump is they all saw he completely abandoned them after they acted on his behalf.

They learned like everyone else around Trump (lawyers, WH staffers, Campaign Staff, etc) all now going to jail for acting on behalf of Trump, that he sees their role as doing the things that will get people jailed, so he can stay arms length from it himself. Whoever ends up his VP and in his Cabinet, should he somehow manage to win in the GE is going to learn this lesson again and this time the pressure to do the illegal things for Trump will be way worse than what Pence faced. Trump now knows, they know, they either do what Pence would not, and risk jail, or he will fire them and ruin them forever in republican circles.

They also saw, when he had the power, he would not even pardon them to protect them. Trump considered it but was advised that once pardoned they cannot take the 5th and must cooperate or face jailing. Few people, terrified they are going to jail after Jan6th activates, and now suddenly pardoned and free, would then willing take on another jail risk by obstructing. Especially when post Jan6th many thought Trump was going to be taken down. Most of them would have just given up all the details and embraced the pardon and Trump's lawyers knew that. So he did not pardon them so they faced the same jeopardy as him and would be more likely to take the 5th.

Agreed that is part of it if not the main part. It also makes me wonder why they still stand by Trump.
