Biden administration cancels $1.2B in student loans with new repayment plan

IOW you believe that ppl should choose their future career based on monetary reasons rather than their talent, skills, and desires. You would have gone far in the old USSR. What a shame you were born here.

I'm very pleased that my daughter is having her student loan forgiven. How unfortunate that we have citizens who believe that teaching -- esp. children with special needs -- is a stupid choice of career.

No, I believe they should do it on both. If you have a lot of talent playing guitar and you are also say, a good carpenter or accountant, you shouldn't choose playing guitar as your career choice unless you don't mind making squat doing it. The number of people paid a lot of money to play guitar can be counted on your fingers, while the number of carpenters and accountants that make good money number in the thousands, even tens of thousands.

Just because you think you should be an astronaut doesn't mean you get to be one. That also means if what you choose to do pays for shit, then that's on you and you alone. You don't deserve to have your legal debts relieved on what amounts to a whim by a moron of a politician. I have to pay my debts. So, stop whining and pay yours. If you don't like the money you get paid to do what you do, change careers or jobs.

Aren't you one of the malcontent morons here screeching that Trump got a loan and actually PAID IT BACK?

Well, on the Left that's considered stupid and insane. Whatta mean I have to pay the loan back?! On the Left, being irresponsible and unaccountable is de rigueur. That is, the Left does and wants what the Left does and wants without consequences--from their point of view.

Are you really too stupid to understand that Trump committed fraud to get the loans? Paying it back does not matter. HE LIED ABOUT HIS ASSETS TO OBTAIN BETTER LOAN CONDITIONS. There are laws against that. Trump casually and repeatedly has lied about his wealth to get better loans that he did not qualify for and to pay less in taxes.
You keep bellowing that he paid them back. That does not matter. He broke the law.

You really are too stupid to understand that Trump defrauded no one. To commit fraud, you have to lie, get the money, and run. Paying back a loan in full is the whole point of getting and properly managing a loan. By your standards every person that just had their student loan forgiven by Biden (illegally I might add since the Supreme Court ruled against him) is now guilty of fraud.

That is all those persons with student loans lied about their assets to obtain the loan and were subsequently unable to pay the loan back in full. That by your standard makes them guilty of fraud.

Trump is your Messiah.

I wonder why some people like yourself think they have the right to tell others how to live and what career choices to make? And what does all this malarky have to do with forgiving student loans, anyways? I guess you are unaware that engineers, physicians, nurses, business owners, military officers, and other essential careers also rack up large student loan debt in the course of learning what they need to know for their careers. You are such a typical Reichwinger: "I got mine so fuck the rest of you."

I'm not telling anyone how to live. I am simply pointing out the realities of life. If you want to follow your passion and that ends up making you poor, don't expect others to give you money because of your poor decisions. Same thing goes for people who choose a life of toil in some horrible job to make tons of money. Don't expect others to bring you happiness because you chose the path you did.

I also am 100% against forced altruism on a society. It never works. If you truly believe people will simply give up what they've earned to others they can see haven't done anything to deserve it, you are a complete fool. That is why socialism never works.

Nordy, I am smart enough to understand that Trump applied for a loan using inflated numbers which would give him a lower interest rate and that is
something literally every contractor has done at one time or another.

I am smart enough to understand that after Trump gave his request for a loan to the bank, it becomes the lender's responsibility to decide if they want to accept or reject those numbers. I am also smart enough to understand that Trump paid back every cent of those loans at the interest rate that the lender demanded.

I am smart enough to understand that the banks that Trump did business with were happy with the transaction and wished to continue their relationship.

Please cite other cases where contractors have been chased down by the state and a DA that got into office by declaring that she was going to "get Trump".

Well dingbat, it comes down to asking for a loan and paying it back. If you twats can't grasp that concept there is little or no hope. In my opinion, it is you and your ilk that have destroyed the morals and common decency that once were the norm in America.

duhhh you're from china duhhhhhhhhhh

Brilliant answer, China boi.

{By a vote of 6-3, the justices ruled that the Biden administration overstepped its authority last year when it announced that it would cancel up to $400 billion in student loans. The Biden administration had said that as many as 43 million Americans would have benefitted from the loan forgiveness program; almost half of those borrowers would have had all of their student loans forgiven.Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the court in Biden v. Nebraska, characterizing the decision as a straightforward interpretation of federal law.}

Traitor Joe is defying the Supreme Court - an act of sedition.

You shifted away from Trump to the banks as is normal for a Trumpy. Trump lied about his holding by multiples. Banks ask you for your collateral. You present it. Trump presented a wealth statement that was FALSE. It is against the law. It is obtaining a load FRAUDULENTLY. Th judge listed many of Trump's lies in the 92 page synopsis. It was bald face lying. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/02/16/nyregion/trump-fraud-engoron-decision-annotated.html

Nordberg, if that were th case, the banks would be bitching. BTW, Fuck that biased judge.

Of course, because everyone should do like in the old Soviet Union and take jobs in demand that serve the Mother Land, and not where their talents, skills, and heart lies.

My daughter was a special ed student herself in grade school. At age seven she declared that she wanted to be a teacher, a special ed teacher. She worked hard to get passing grades. She graduated with a BS in Education magma cum laude. Ditto for grad school. She has multiple sclerosis and has managed even so to continue to teach, to be a mom of two, and to be a role model to the new teachers they assign her to mentor, along with the student teachers she has every year.

You need to sit down and shut the fuck up about other people's life choices, careers, vocations. Be happy with the miserable little life you created for yourself, and stop jealousing over others' choices. Asshole.
Your daughter could have gone to the Alaska bush where she not only could have gotten a high paying job and loan repayment and to a place where there is a desperate need.
There’s actually lots of Native villages in the Lower 48 where she could have done the same.
I think it’s a 3 year contract. Some make a career out of it.

Lots of healthcare professionals do it as well as teachers.
