The Alabama Supreme Court ruled last week that frozen embryos created through in vitro fertilization, or IVF, are considered children under state law and are therefore subject to legislation dealing with the wrongful death of a minor if one is destroyed.
"The Wrongful Death of a Minor Act applies to all unborn children, regardless of their location," the opinion states, including "unborn children who are located outside of a biological uterus at the time they are killed."

The salient part is that embryos are now people i.e. children.
The Alabama S.C. has codified what we have already known, embryos are people, children.

The "my body, my choice, abortion on demand, its just a clump of cells" group has never answered why the fetus is "just a clump of cells" when they want it to be but suddenly/miraculously becomes a full fledged human being deserving of all the same protections against wrongful death that all people have when the fetus is killed by somebody other than its mother.

it really is.A miscarriage is the loss of a baby... because it was wanted... an abortion is just getting rid of a clump of cells because it was unwanted... the frozen embryo discussion is pretty much the same... when recklessness or carelessness leads to the loss of these embryos this may mean that the couple involved have lost a chance to have children... everyone losing their mind here is ignoring that pesky detail...
Now what about a viable but defective embryo?
