The entire Bill of Rights was originally written to apply to the federal government only. ("Congress shall make no law")
Although not widely understood, it is accepted U. S. history with no real controversy. Over time, the 14th Amendment was used to apply most of the provisions in the Bill of Rights to the states. This process occurred 1925-2010. A few of the rights still do not apply to the states: examples: 3rd amendment, 5th: grand jury indictment (many states do not use grand juries), 8th: excessive fines and bail, 7th: jury trial in civil cases.
The last right to be applied was the 2nd amendment in 2010. Although many states allow a jury trial in civil cases, it is not a constitutional requirement.
This process was called the incorporation or nationalization process and is included in any basic constitutional law text.

They do so all the time. You have no right to bear arms when they make you a felon or imprison you, for example.

In other words, you do not want any of the Bill of Rights to limit the states? Because that is the original intent. That means none of the rights, including the 7th right to trial in civil cases applies.
So, as I said originally, Trump was not denied his right to trial in a civil case because that right only applies to federal trials.

True Trump repeatedly said he wanted a jury trial but the Judge refused to change it to Jury trial when the judge had the power to to it.
Delusional, Trump waived his right to a jury trial until after the deadline, then demanded one. He did not want a jury, he just wanted to whine about not getting one.

There is no constitutional right for a jury trial in civil cases in state courts.

If Trump wanted a jury trial he was required to tick the box, letting the court know that was his wish. HE did not, thus he did not get it.
That the Judge might not have given it to him, because of NYS law, is something Trump could have then appealed.
if his rights were being violated it could be fixed by the higher courts.
But Trump has to begin that process by checking the box and not waiving it.
Why did they not simply 'check the box'?
