1. the requirements to amend the Constitution and
2. if you somehow managed that, we'd refuse to comply.....violently, if necessary.

The founders knew they could not predict the future and made the Constitution malleable. It could be changed to accommodate the reality they knew they could not predict. But the Repubs went for originalism. That means you interpret what they said through a right-wing filter and claim that is what the founders wanted and how we should stay. Yeah, the world sure does change. From leaving your doors unlocked, buying a semi-automatic .30-06 at the hardware store, mail ordering a rifle from the Sears catalog, and no fear leaving hunting guns in your car in the HS parking lot, to home security systems, panic at the thought of a gun in a car at HS (and no longer rifle clubs in HS), background checks (that could refuse you for being on antidepressants years ago, or current legal prescription medications) and waiting periods. Gangs smuggling people, drugs, who knows who across our border and years of failed immigration policy wouldn't have anything to do with that...
