Biden’s lawyers forcefully protested Hur report before its release

White House and personal lawyers for Mr. Biden wrote to Attorney General Merrick B. Garland the day before he released the report by the special counsel, Robert K. Hur, objecting to passages in which Mr. Hur suggested that Mr. Biden’s memory was failing and questioned some of his actions even though he found no basis to prosecute him.

The lawyers said Mr. Hur’s comments “openly, obviously and blatantly violate department policy and practice,” the letters, obtained by The New York Times, show.

"The Special Counsel told the President he planned to ask questions that “relate to
events that happened years ago,” and then expressed his hope that the President would “put forth
[his] best efforts and really try to get [his] best recollection in response to the questions we ask.”
A global and pejorative judgment on the President’s powers of recollection in general is
uncalled for and unfounded."

"Mr. Hur comments at least nine times in the report about his opinion of the president’s
memory. These critical comments about the President’s memory stand in stark contrast to Mr.
Hur’s treatment of multiple other witnesses who seemed to display similar memory lapses about
events from previous years. For example, the report accepts without negative comment John
McGrail’s failure to remember certain events while he served as then-Vice President Biden’s
counsel: “McGrail’s memory of these events could well have faded over the course of more than
6 years.” Hur Report at 238 n.923; see also id. at 67, 69 (noting Mr. McGrail’s failure to recall
events despite emails that place him in the center of various discussions).

Among other things, Biden’s lawyers argued that Hur had no reason to assemble a 388-page report in the first place. Justice Department regulations dictate that if no charges are filed, the special counsel should send a confidential summary to the attorney general explaining that decision, they said.

Garland is a weak ass fuck for letting the report be released as it was. He should have handed it back to Hurr and said, Try again, trumptard!"
