Think of the price of a package of gum as like the cost of guarding the Mexican border against migrants trying to walk across it; then think of the price of quart of milk as like the cost of helping to defend Ukraine against the armed forces of Russia. Do you think there might be a difference in scale that explains the lower percentage of funding for the border, like the lower cost of the gum compared to the quart of milk?
