Trump loses appeal

Well you have a 32% chance of winning in the SCOTUS.

According to Ballotpedia, the Supreme Court has a 68% reversal rate for cases originating from the District of Columbia Circuit.

ROFLMAO..
I guess you don't realize that the Supreme Court takes less than 2% of the cases decided in DC.

DC appeals court takes just over 1,000 cases per year.
USSC takes about 75 cases per year from 12 different appeals courts.

For things he did AS pResident. He can only be impeached for his criminal acts AS pResident.

Only if you completely ignore the wording of the US Constitution can you make that statement.

From the court ruling which clearly destroys your idiotic argument.
The Impeachment Judgment Clause merely
states that “the Party convicted” shall nevertheless be subject
to criminal prosecution. The text says nothing about non-
convicted officials. Former President Trump’s reading rests on
a logical fallacy: Stating that “if the President is convicted, he
can be prosecuted,” does not necessarily mean that “if the
President is not convicted, he cannot be prosecuted.” See, e.g.,
N.L.R.B. v. Noel Canning, 573 U.S. 513, 589 (2014) (Scalia, J.,
concurring) (explaining “the fallacy of the inverse (otherwise
known as denying the antecedent): the incorrect assumption
that if P implies Q, then not-P implies not-Q”).

For things he did AS pResident. He can only be impeached for his criminal acts AS pResident.

So Biden could have Seal team 6 kill Trump and if some Dems, in the Senate were considering impeaching him, he could tell them, they will be killed too before they can vote and kill them off as necessary to ensure no impeachment can be completed.

Is that what you are arguing the law is?

Melania, you are wrong, again.

So, now it goes to the Supreme Court, which will rule the same way. But by the time that is all said and done... we will have voted and maybe have elected him President... You'll have to wait.

And if by chance he was impeached then he could simply resign before the Senate trial and get off scott free since Trump's position is prosecution can only occur if the President is impeached and found guilty in the Senate.

Nope. The Supreme Court has to stay the ruling to prevent the trial from moving forward. I don't see them willing to argue that it is likely Trump will prevail in his argument that a President has absolute immunity.

There was a reason that the prosecutor wanted to skip this step and go directly to the Supremes, and why Trump and his lawyers wanted the appeals court to rule on it first... and it wasn't because this way would be faster. The reality. You will find that this will be appealed... and you will have to wait.

The Judges that heard his argument were all Democrats nominated by Democrats. Don't get your hopes up Joe.

Not True!

Didn't your parents teach you not to lie?

The unsigned decision was issued by all three judges: Karen L. Henderson, an appointee of former President George H.W. Bush, and two appointees of President Biden, Judges Florence Y. Pan and J. Michelle Childs.

Try not to lie when you are commenting here at JPP, as people are now going to see you as a liar- and associate you with the well known liar- Donald Trump!

Next!

Going straight to the Supremes would have avoided the Appeals court so it would be a final ruling today from the Supremes.
The issue is unless there is a stay, then the lower court can proceed to trial.
A stay is only supposed to be issued if the the court thinks the person appealing will win. I believe the stay requires at least 4 justices to agree to the stay.
The Court could take the appeal but allow the trial to go forward or the court could just refuse to take the appeal.

Just repeating what you said before with more wind doesn't make it more right.

There was a reason that the prosecutor wanted to skip the appeals court and go straight to SCOTUS and it was because he wanted it done quicker. There was a reason that Trump and his lawyers wanted them to have to go through the process, it was because it will take longer...

We will see if I am correct, but I will once more repeat with the same words because they mean the same thing in this post as in the last two...: You are going to have to wait.

The Supremes may well refuse to Grant CERT. If that’s how they proceed it will only take a few weeks.

It’s very likely the Supreme Court will refuse to review this case. If that’s the case, it will only take about three weeks five on the longest.

The district court wrote a very long and detailed opinion. The Supremes may decide it is sufficient. I would be shocked if they overruled and found for Trump.

I would be shocked as well, though I think they may (note may here I am careful in my wording as you were above).. take up the case to hear arguments regardless that we will be shocked, which will push this thing until way after the election. Regardless, we will have a wait at the very least until they decide which way they'll be going, which makes my previous prediction correct. You will have to wait, then they have to put the case back into the docket, you will have to wait more... Trump was successful in his "punt"...
