YOU LOVE TO SEE IT: America’s Largest Solar Project Comes Online. MAGA soils diapers.

https://www.levernews.com/you-love-to-see-it-americas-largest-solar-project-comes-online/

So you think you're smarter than all these energy experts who did feasibility studies and invested millions into these project?

I don't think so, terry. Your disdain towards alternative energy has distorted your thinking.

The people pushing this shit can't do math and the people building it don't give a shit as long as they make a profit from it. Get ready to pay .35 cents a KWH for your electricity California because just like in Europe, particularly Germany, "green" solar and wind makes electricity ungodly expensive...

As is often said by contractors everywhere as they walk away from some fucked up idea someone had of a project that they make bank on building it: Can't see it from my house!

That is, the builders make bank, the idiot Leftists in government that ordered it can't figure out what a loser they ordered is, and the people that are now forced to buy their power from it wonder why their electric bill quadrupled...

Poor 'butthurt' terry

You're the one living on the West Coast paying double what I do for electricity with rates going even higher as your state converts to useless solar and wind...

I live on the west coast and I haven't paid more than 2 or 3 electricity bills in about 7 years. All thanks to solar.

Terry has NEVER shown an ounce of ability to understand or comprehend the value of ANY new technology rollouts.

He has one template reply, which applied equally to the early Ice Auto rollout, the PC rollout, Cell phone rollout, Internet Rollout, etc.

That is, to look at where the technology and support for it is as the massive commercialization wave roll out begins and to freeze ANY AND ALL improvements in time and judge based on that whether it works or not.

The EV mass rollout parallels very closely the Internet and ICE vehicle expansions. All early traction in big cities (copper and gasoline more available) and then expanding ever outward as more infrastructure (more copper, more gas stations, etc) were added. A continued expansion where suddenly suburban and then rural communities were included. All the while working on big tech improvement (Fibre Optics rollout, etc) which again expanded the growth ever more outwards.

This is all anyone needs to know about Terry. He made a statement that NOTHING has changed in a meaningful way since the early 1909(?) first EV's until today that makes an EV today a better product to purchase and use.

If Terry is not simply a deliberately troll, who is not looking to be taken seriously and actually believes that, that explains to the depths of dumb we are dealing with and why no one will ever be able to cut thru it.

Most EV's today are driven by people as their city commuter car, with the vast, vast majority of trips being work/home/errands/weekend getaways within a couple hours driving time and EV's not only suit them fine but are BETTER for that then ICE vehicles are for most of them, cost and convenience wise. But still EV's are and will continue to expand every outwards as the tech and services improve. And Terry will scream at the clouds every step of that journey.

Awww, someone so uneducated they've never heard of energy storage or "batteries".

Right now storage batteries for commercial use run somewhere between $175 and $225 a KWH to install. Do the math. Battery storage on a commercial scale is insanely expensive, even if you cut the price in half.

None of those required the government to bribe people to buy those things, or the government to heavily subsidize them endlessly, nor the government to mandate their use and outlaw alternatives...

ICE vehicles the Oil and Gas industries have been amongst the TAKERS of "government bribe money" in American history and still are currently.

The Internet industry is still taking 'government bribe money' to roll out to rural, mostly Red State communities.

So as always Terry you do not know one fuck about any topic you speak about.

You are the forums Marjorie Green Terry, lots of opinions based on mass ignorance.

We've been over this before and you were full of shit then, and you are full of shit now.

No i am not.

I listed pages of direct Oil and Gas subsidies from the US gov't and internationally and all sorts of subsidies and bailouts of ICE vehicle manufactures and your only reply is to DENY that counts as being a 'taker of government bribe money'.

You have arbitrarily decided they deserve the tax payer money they have got for almost 100 years and thus it is OK, while anyone today does not.

That is because you are stupid Terry. NO one on the planet otherwise denies the tax payer money both Oil and Gas and ICE vehicle makers have got thru subsidies and bailouts, etc.

Do you also deny the Airline industry has got 'government bribe money' to help them Terry?

Yea, the ones where they list things like oil companies using LIFO or FIFO accounting techniques to avoid extra taxes, as if an accepted and widely used accounting technique were some sort of subsidy... Or where they list the government paying for research into things like special fuels for military use and the like as if those too were subsidies...

You were full of shit then, and are full of shit now.

There you go making shit up again, terry. Does it help you sleep at night to believe I live on the west coast?
Why would you say something so asinine? I guess if you can delude yourself into thinking that Trump is a good President, anything's possible.
Fact is, I've lived on the east coast my whole life, from Massachusetts to the Carolinas.
I did visit San Diego in 1982 for a week. Even went to a Padres game. Drove up to LA to spend the day at Disneyland. But that's the extent of my residence in California.

Now, don't you feel stupid, terry?

No, because you still want solar and wind and that means expensive electricity.

BTW Massachusetts pays about .28 a KWH while Arizona pays about .14 a KWH

https://www.chooseenergy.com/electricity-rates-by-state/

So, more green energy means less green in your pocket.

LIES.

I listed pages of different layers of subsidies. Not just one or two types you pick out to cherry pick.

Biden budget to target U.S. fossil fuel subsidies

...HOW MUCH ARE THEY WORTH?
Calculating the cost of U.S. subsidies for the fossil fuel industry is complex because the incentives stretch across the U.S. tax code, but estimates range from $10 to $50 billion per year

WHAT DO THE SUBSIDIES INCLUDE?
U.S. oil and gas subsidies include provisions ranging from incentives for domestic production, write-offs and deductions tied to foreign production and income, and approved accounting methods that can reduce the stated taxable value of assets.
One specific U.S. tax break on domestic production, for example, called intangible drilling costs, allows producers to deduct a majority of their costs from drilling new wells. ...

Reforming global fossil fuel subsidies: How the United States can restart international cooperation

Globally, governments spend more than $500 billion on subsidies for fossil fuels that contribute to inefficiency, inequity, and negative externalities. Despite this obvious problem, efforts at reforming fossil fuel subsidies across the world have been piecemeal. ...

...This means that they need to identify and tackle both production and consumption subsidies. Production subsidies increase the profitability of extracting and transporting fuels, usually by offering tax breaks, production credits, or accelerated depreciation for capital investment. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) found that production subsidies increased by 30% in 2019...

...The sheer scale of subsidies makes them an important pillar of the fossil fuel industry. The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) found that production subsidies by the G20 countries averaged $290 billion annually during 2017-2019. Of this amount, almost 95% went towards oil and gas, with a relatively small amount earmarked for coal....

That you, Terry, read the above and stick your fingers in your ears and say 'not listening... not listening... those do not count as subsidies when i could post AGAIN, 30 more links from some of the biggest think tank groups (not leftist) ALL OF WHICH identify the ISSUE of Oil and Gas subsidies, but you, Terry say 'Nope, no such thing', shows how empty and vacuous you are.

There is simply NO DENYING that world wide Oil and Gas subsidies and Auto subsidies and bailouts have been amongst the biggest 'takers of government money'.

You are stupid beyond help on this issue.

Terry, since your position is that Oil and Gas and ICE Auto has never got a subsidy and does not currently get subsidies, lets take one example from the 'dozens' (yes dozens) of different layers and see if you are simply denying what a subsidy is.

Do you agree Terry that if an EV Company was about to buy some land and due to 'reasons' the seller, in this case being the government, gave them a market discount on that land, such that the EV company got to keep more money in their coffers, that the EV company just got a subsidy?

(I am assuming your answer to the above is yes.)

Now same question but it is an OIl and Gas company, dealing with certain States, who gets to acquire the land at a discount to market rates. Is that a subsidy, yes or no?

(I assume you will say no, so please explain the difference?)
