I see this as an idiocy of the Left. They want Trump stopped at any cost. But if they do stop Trump through a legal maneuver, that cost could end up creating a civil war. I think it's far better to let the people decide who gets elected than kicking the opposition's front runner off the ballot in a somewhat questionable legal maneuver like some Third World dictator would do.

The 25 historians – among them James McPherson of Princeton, the pre-eminent civil war scholar – pointed to 1860s congressional debate.
“Senator Reverdy Johnson of Maryland, a Democratic opponent of the 14th amendment, challenged sponsors as to why section three omitted the president. Republican Lot Morrill of Maine … replied, ‘Let me call the senator’s attention to the words “or hold any office civil or military under the United States”.’ Johnson admitted his error; no other senator questioned whether section three covered the president.”

Honestly why should any give one fuck about what Magats will think when if Trump is allowed to run, loses to Biden fair and square AGAIN that exact same group 'see that as nothing short of election interference and stealing the election by the Left/Democrats'.


The biggest mistake the Left keeps making is thinking they should bend over to show not only are they not acting in a partisan way, but they are ding things in a way to favor the Magats and right hoping it shows the Magats they are playing fair. From the Impeachment using almost 100% republican and Trump supporters, to Biden, leaving in a Trump prosecutor investigating his son. To Garland leaving in Durham. All done to show the right they will not tilt the field towards the Dem and in fact will LEAVE it tilted to Republi'cans' as Trump and Barr tilted it, and it gets them NOTHING.


The Left has to understand trying to appease Magats is impossible outside of one key thing. Giving them the result they want regardless of merit or process.
