90% of people that attempt suicide with a gun are successful.
People who don't use a gun are successful less than 40% of the time.

The most common type of suicide attempt has a success of 2%.
The majority of people that attempt suicide and fail never try again.

Can you figure why the number of suicides would go down?
Is a 25% drop in the number of suicides dramatic?

In Japan .. Suicide is the leading cause of death in men between the ages of 20-44 and women between the ages of 15-34...guess what STUPID FUCK no guns..... no one in Japan may purchase a handgun or a rifle.





Suicide rate in USA 16.1 with 300 million guns

Japan is 15.3 with zero guns and guns are banned

Japan is not the same as the US. Japan has a heritage of seeing suicide as a noble undertaking. One would expect a higher suicide rate in such a society.

England and Wales have few guns and a suicide rate of 6.2
Australia has a suicide rate of 11.3
