I haven't heard anyone in Gaza say anything but I'm sure most are quite pleased by the death and destruction Hamas has caused to be visited on them

They blame the Jews rather than blaming Hamas. They have been brain washed. The Jews didn't attack the Palestinians Hamas attacked the Jews.

Well thanks for that. I haven't heard from even one of them, only seen pics of where their apartments and other buildings used to be, and of course the families themselves packed in mule carts with what household possessions they could carry.

When you make a decision to have a terrorist group, Hamas, represent you, you have to deal with the consequences.

The Palestinians were offered half of Israel but they chose war instead. Arafat was offered a very generous two state solution but walked away from it choosing war instead. Israel has the power to exterminate the Palestinians but has not done it. The Palestinians have continued to attack Israel and Israel has shown restraint in their response. This attack was so egregious that Hamas MUST be destroyed. Hamas is hiding behind civilians and Israel is taking measures to reduce civilian deaths. But as long as Hamas hides behind civilians and prevents them from leaving or civilians refuse to leave the conflict zone there will be civilian deaths. This war and the damage and deaths is on Hamas not Israel.

Demonstrators gathered on the streets of the capital holding flags and banners as they demanded an end to the bombing.

There have beennine arrests, some of which are being treated as suspected hate crimes.

Protests also took place in Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast and other cities.

It follows the recent upsurge in conflict between Hamas and Israel.

Israel has expanded its strikes, three weeks after Hamas launched a cross-border attack that killed 1,400 people and saw 229 people kidnapped as hostages.

Since then, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 7,500 Palestinians have been killed as Israel carried out retaliatory strikes.

Over the past three weekends huge protests have taken place in major UK cities.
