The flip side to that is states are laboratories for democracy. As people here love to say 'as goes California so goes the nation'. Policies that get passed in California would not get passed nationally first (but often seep into national legislation later).
I fully acknowledge that not everything that comes from it is positive, but we've also seen the centralized style Soviet Union top down government over a nation and that did not work.
I know. The only Red State in the Great Lakes region in Indiana. The Mississippi of the Midwest.
Interesting facet about abortion is that the right finally got what they wanted for decades, the overturning of Roe, and at the time they all celebrated, but now, politically, they are seeing the consequences and they are baffled
Without a doubt many Republicans women in Ohio voted for that Amendment, bottom line, women don’t like being told what they can do with their own body, especially when it is largely old men telling them
And what baffles me about the abortion battle, and I don’t support abortion, is that forever the majority on the right shouted that abortion was murder, yet now, their politicians are basically saying, well, it is only murder after six weeks, ten weeks, fifteen weeks, under these circumstances or those circumstances, I never knew moral dogma was so flexible

As long as there is NOT a violation of Constitutional law. Seems that the SCOTUS has ruled against what you say here, and that generalized edict of yours doesn't excuse or justify your documented racism and bigotry on this site.
Boy, the head of yours must be spinning under that hood!![]()

There were two major State Wide Issues today in Ohio.
Issue 1. Is a vote to enshrine reproductive rights in our State Constitution.
Issue 2. Will legalize recreational pot use in our State.
The early returns are coming in. Normally the early votes trend very conservative in the early returns and swing towards the center as the votes are counted as small rural communities complete their counts early.
With that being the case it does not look good for the opposition to Issues 1&2.
Issue 1 is currently at 65% for to 35% against.
Isuue 2 currently at 58% for to 42% against.
No one is baffled; it is being decided as it should be, by the states. They differ on this issue. Problem?
Our DEMOCRACY is at work tomight!
I don’t think it would take a Nostradamus to predict that if this issue was being voted on in michigan it would win by a larger margin than in Ohio.
keep up, fuckwit....Gretch the Wretch turned us into a baby killing state in 22......
Somewhere in Ohio, a retired substitute PE teacher is screaming at the sky.
Michigan is a bastion of repub gerrymandering. The Dems have won the popular vote over and over, but CANNOT win the state senate and house.

Um, you didn't seem to care too much if they were in Gaza...
Hey, conservatives - you are wrong on abortion.
America says so.
