I've noticed a sinister trend among forced-birthers, including Toxic TOP. They declare that their opposition to abortion isn't based on their religious beliefs but on some twisted "morality." The unsaid part is, of course, "*I* am the moral one here, making the moral argument. *YOU* choice-supporters are the immoral ones."

Notice how they always throw in words like "kill/killer" "murder/murderer" and use specious examples like women are having abortions because of "convenience" -- a pregnancy would spoil their vacation or keep them from a promotion. Subtext: Women should be at home having more babies, not careers.

Ra-men. My own kids are far more progressive than I am and would gladly vote for progressive candidates if available. Ditto for the young people at school (aged mostly in their late teens/early 20s).

I don't have "generations beyond" about which to worry,
and for some reason, I find that much more comforting than sad.

I suppose that if I were of a more optimistic attitude toward the future,
I might instead be sad.

Clearly, my pessimism is serving me well.
I should definitely stick with it.:thinking:

Just about everyone knows someone who's had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have life saving surgery.... I don't know anyone who's ever been denied Medical Care and in every case the woman Mourns the loss of the child....

Unless anti-abortion laws are very carefully written, an ectopic pregnancy is still a pregnancy that physicians would be unable to treat even to save the woman's life. Many of your ilk refuse exceptions even for rape, incest, or life of the woman. Mourning has nothing to do with this and is just an emotional Scooby snack you throw in as if it changes anything. Tip: It doesn't, it just weakens your already weak argument.

it is why they try to wrap arguments in emotion as they know the truth and logic do not agree with them.

The appeal to suggest that if you gave your child, pre its birth, a name that somehow then means from zygote to post birth all deserve the same protections because 'gasp... surely if you had a name you believed it was a child'.

well that plays right in to Step 1 and why TOP has never answered my question on whether she would use the law to block all contraception. Because 'gasp, surely if you have a name for your eventual child', as i have heard some young girls express, even before they hit puberty, then 'of course contraception should then be denied to them'.

Get off right derp news sites then and tune in to the increasing cases, in Maga States who are criminalizing abortion, and you will see testimony by women who are being denied that health care, with their lives being put at risk, being forced to go out of State to get it.

And these are women who want and are trying to have a child. So in denying them that care to clear out the already dead fetus, harms their chances of ever having a child in future. A strange thing for pro life people to support as it is basically supporting the sterilization of these women who want to have a child.

Exactly, so many of the Republicans not only want criminality for the woman seeking an abortion but for the physicians performing them as well. As Roe got overturned and all these snap reaction abortion ban bills got passed by these troglodyte conservative state legislatures, the legal waters suddenly got very murky.

Exactly. So it's like a Trump trial with the prosecution trying to prove intent, and Trump pretending it was all an accident. If you even thought of a future name for a future baby, but then had an abortion -- you KNEW it was a "child" when you "murdered" it. That argument fools no one. Neither does its corollary that if one woman miscarries and mourns the loss of that pregnancy, then *everything* that terminates a pregnancy means someone killed a child.

As for your two questions, that you repeated twice, of course she didn't answer them. She has pretended to be a teacher for as long as I've known the pitiful thing. SHE gives out the assignments -- YOU do the homework. She won't answer direct questions because of this, and because of her overarching passive-aggressiveness. To take a stand means to risk having it sawed out from under her.

No, they decided it was their fate not to have children. Adoption is expensive and they didn’t have the money at the time, so they adopted shelter dogs.

The new speaker of the house has extreme views on both abortion and LGBTQ rights. This is the guy of whom, after his selection last week, Toxic TOP declared that the more she hears about him, the more she likes him. But she's not trying to force her views on anyone, oh no. :rolleyes:

And in Texas, you can get a $10,000 reward if you turn in anyone who has helped a woman get an abortion -- even if it was just driving her to a clinic.
