Teabagger Fires Off Angry Press Release

Americablog.com

The teabaggers don't like being called teabaggers. Yesterday, via email, I got a press release from one of the leaders of the teabagging movement, David Webb, the "Co-Founder Tea Party 365, Inc." Webb is steamed at Senator Chuck Schumer:

The senior Senator from New York has joined the ranks of Janeane Garofalo, Bill Maher, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews in insulting Americans who exercise their rights in a Democratic manner. These stalwarts of Liberalism claim to uphold fiercely the rights of all, unless you hold a position that does not suit them. Massachusetts residents have legitimate policy concerns about Martha Coakley and a 1st Amendment Right to voice them.

Senator Schumer stated in an official email "Martha Coakley is running to fill the rest of Ted Kennedy's term, and her opponent is a far-right tea-bagger Republican." The accurate definition of "tea-bagger" or any derivation is an offensive sexual slur referring to the placement of a man's testicles on a woman's chin. One can only wonder how the women in Senator Schumer's offices, residents of New York or any woman who interacts with the Senator feel about his public and official use of such an offensive sexual slur in referring to American citizens he is elected to represent.

Who knew the teabaggers were so thin-skinned? And, I don't think Webb's definition is quite "accurate."

Hmmm....this must explain why almost all professional comedians are liberal.

Yes, Yurt, I've heard the detailed and convoluted explanation about how this joke is turned around on liberals and that it means liberals want to be teabagged by by Bush voters.

Here's a comedy tip: If you have to explain your joke, it really isn't funny. It's pretty much a comedic fail.

keep it up, I say. Make more names for people you don't like. Yell them louder and louder. Let the MSM broadcast them on a nightly basis. All you do is increase the anger and resentment. Eventually, we'll have had enough and come out in force and armed.

Explain? I don't have to explain why it is better a teabagger to be than the teabaggee... again, I think the teabaggees need to remember to rinse thoroughly after getting teabagged...

And so it continues, with their mindless rhetorical use of deliberately demeaning mis-labeling and name calling, then demeaning people for daring to point out the use of such tactics, the far left and their pet media proves exactly what type of hypocritical lying suckholes they truly are.

Then they'll whine like 2-year-olds when the tide turns and the term "liberal" once again becomes an insult.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed too if one of our government officials referred to a significant block of the American population by a derogatory name. But hopefully it follows him to the voting booth.

In the political sense it's another name for Tea party activists. In other terms it's a word for a guy who 'tea bags' someone else by smacking them in the face with their stinky, hairy balls repeatedly.
Ah I see. Just Googled it. The Tea Party group is far right wing conservatives.
Which also identifies them with needing to be slapped in the face with a pair of harry balls.

A lot of Tea party activists are from across the entire political spectrum, so it'd be intellectually dishonest to paint them as either far right or left, though certain elements of both certainly do exist within the movement.

The term liberal is indeed an insult. At family gatherings all I have to do to set someone off is point at them and say "you lib-err-ul!". :)

Interesting but true. Why do you think that is - it is only a word for open minded and tolerant. This nation was founded on the political philosophy of liberalism and is still liberal today in most ways. Witness the help for Haiti only. Does anyone know of a nation founded on Conservatism? (Serious answers only)

"The peculiar internal tension of liberal constitutions is that they constrain power even as they authorize it—that is, they attempt to curb the despotic power and ambitions of individual rulers and officials and, by doing so, to permit stronger systemic capacities." Paul Starr in Freedom's Power

Because we use it in it's modern, political term, not it's classical term. Hence, a "liberal":

  • has no understanding of modern economic theory (that one does not become rich by making others poor);
  • has no understanding of the historical context of the terms "liberal" and "conservative" (as you so aptly demonstrated, since modern conservatives embrace the concept of the founders while modern liberals seek to tear them down);
  • refuses to acknowledge that with freedom comes personal responsibility, hence seeks freedom from responsibility;
  • is closed-minded in their beliefs (as demonstrated by the issues above).
