Prediction. Scott Brown Wins MA Senate

Chapdog

Abreast of the situations
I'm gonna go out on a limb and make my prediction now. Absolute wave against coakley right now. Since when did the democrats think that negative attack ads would work in MA? Worst move she could have made here. Sit at evening watching local news and there is no commercials between segments just ad after ad after ad all negative over the top probably about 5 coakley negative ads and then 1 brown positive ad. Disgusting campaign.

Dude, the SEIU is in force. They are combing the recent obituaries and comparing that to the list of registered voters. Scott doesn't have a chance in Massachusetts.

Oh im sure there will be some fraud. I witnessed first hand a few years back organized busloads of people from boston common area being taken to NewHampshire to vote.

Just like your sig showing yet another obmam lie to dupe Americans to advance a collectivist agenda for the USA---it looks like the uber left of Mass is starting to figure out what is going on. May be they are not as uber left as they were lead to believe they are, and quite the opposite of this administrations agenda. May be they are----real Americans! Man---would I like to see that out of a progressively Kennedy owned Mass.

I think he will win. He gained about a half dozen points to close the gap in a week--and momentum is going his way. It still shows me people voting on a whim though, instead of actually matching their true caractor with anybody running---because those people should have known better decades ago.

When is the election? I am looking forward to some election excitment....

Are you accepting defeat?

There is still 80% of our elegable voting population that does not vote--and I am sure some are friends or neighbors of yours. Tap into that 80%, and get them off the couch to register and start paying attention to what is going on. Thenm they get a freind to vote also. If we give up to the corruption---we will lose. Brown has to win this election--and I know it can be done---even if you give up and lie down like a speed bump.

I know--you live in a different state, and probably do your part in your state as a individual---but us individuals have to excite others to vote, and all we need is about 5% of the 80% that is not voting. Me personaly--I see a way to win.

People dont realize this about MA because we are such a blue stronghold but we have a huge registered independent population. I believe its bigger then registered dems or registered republicans.

Wow. You're really sticking your neck out on this one SF with the Suffolk poll showing Brown up by 4 points. At this point, pretty much everyone has it as a toss up.

On the negative ads, the ones I have seen aren't really all that harsh. Sure, they're negative but they're hardly over the top. At this point, the only question seems to be who wins over independents. Another poll released yesterday had Coakley up by 8. The difference in the two poll result was the breakdown of independent voters. The best way to bring down numbers with independents is to go negative. Sad but true.

I hope your prediction is right Chap, but it still feels like a dream and I think we will wake up on Wednesday and go.... DAMN IT... she won.

I would love to be wrong on this.

Just to address the above portion... why do you think it is 'sad'?

I would think that most people tire of the negative ads and would rather the politicians simply tell us what they intend to do in office and how they plan to accomplish their objectives. If an opponent has a history of repeating the same mistake over and over... say multiple DUI's or violent outbursts etc... sure point them out. But so much of the negative ads (from both sides) are petty and often grossly exaggerated (being kind here).

Just curious as to why you think it is sad. If I misread your intent, I apologize in advance.

For every person that you cajole their fat asses off the coach an SEIU worker will have 25 recent obits correlated with the voter registry. Next he'll be at the polls at 7 am, vote for person A, go to his car, change out his jacket, and go right back to the end of the line. He'll do this all day long because he's getting paid by his union to do it.

Its relentless. Like ok commercial break.. Negative ad one, negative ad 2, negative ad 3, negative ad 4, scott brown positive ad, negative ad 5, negative ad 6.. ok back to the news.

Brown will easily win the boston suburbs on 128 and 495 beltways. Coakley needs the cities to vote.

It's sad because in an ideal world there would be no need for negative ads. Voters would be fully knowledgeable of the candidates and the entirety of their records such that they wouldn't need negative ads to point out a particular candidate's shortcomings. The negative ads in this race point out two things (a) Scott Brown is a Republican and (b) Scott Brown votes for everything that Republicans like.

Thanks. I did misread what you meant.

I thought you were saying it was sad that the negative ads would bring down numbers with independents. My fault.

I agree with your above.

You're exaggerating quite a bit. It hasn't been that bad. I think you don't like them because you know they're effective.

Brown is definitely moderate. Hes pro choice.

effective to ignorant independents but not intelligent independents. We will see how it works for her on Tuesday.

Chap I appreciate your optimism but I grew up in Massachusetts and left as soon as I could. The politics are ridiculously corrupt and the schools have taught the last two generations a pile of bullshit taller than the Hancock Building. Whenever I talk to my nephews who still live there its like talking to Watermark or any of these other rabid stupid liberals on this board. They hold the Constitution and the Founders in contempt and are completely illiterate about the shameful history of the Democrat Party.
