So, for her claim to be accurate she has to be paying 25.375% of her income in Federal income taxes.
A single mom gets a $19,400 standard deduction which is NOT part of her taxable income.
Her income tax rate never exceeds 24% on any single dollar until she earns over $170,050 for the year in taxable income.
If she makes more than $142,000 then her FICA is cut to just 1.45% above that.
In order for her federal tax bill to be 32% of her income she has to be making over $500,000 per year. Or does she really think her local school district is sending money to Ukraine?
Even if we include the highest state taxes, she has to be making close to $250,000 per year to make her statement true.
