How Did Hamas Acquire Advanced Rockets?

How people in the West can support Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah is a mystery to me.

War is expensive along with being deadly to those involved or caught in the crossfire. It's not a mystery where all the money is coming from.

How Did Hamas Acquire Advanced Rockets?
When Hamas opened its surprise attack on Israel just before dawn last Saturday, it unleashed sustained salvos of some 200 rockets and missiles each at Israeli cities and towns. By mid-morning, the militants had fired a total of some 2,500 projectiles that quickly overwhelmed Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system.

At the same time, Hamas also launched scores of armed drones that dropped powerful explosives on Israeli tanks and troops guarding the Gaza border while hundreds of its fighters smashed through the fortified border on foot and others landed on Israeli beaches in small boats and dropped from the air in paragliders....

...It’s no secret how Hamas, under an Israeli military blockade since 2007, has generally managed to stock its arsenals with such lethal military hardware. According to numerous independent analysts and regional experts, Iran, wearing the mantle of anti-Israel leadership in the Muslim world, has been providing Hamas with millions of dollars in funding, weapons and missile training since they first established ties in the 1980s.

In 2014, Gen. Ahmad Hosseini, then the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps missile force, acknowledged the key role Tehran played in developing Hamas’ missile program. Years earlier, he recounted, Hamas engineers had been “armed and trained by Hezbollah (Iran’s proxy force in Lebanon). . . Some of them even came to Iran for training.” Hosseini added that the father of Iran’s own missile force, the late Gen. Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam, “armed them and guided them.”

Initially, Iran’s Quds Force, together with Hezbollah, instructed Hamas engineers in making rockets from common materials like pipes, fertilizer and sugar, said Ido Levy, an associate fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a pro-Israel think tank, in a 2021 paper. This, he wrote, enabled Hamas to begin domestic production of its short-range Qassam rocket, which the militants fired at Israeli towns just north of the Gaza Strip.

Later, Iran began smuggling the components of its own home-manufactured Fajr 3 and Fajr 5 ballistic missiles, with ranges of 27 miles and 47 miles respectively, into Gaza by hiding them aboard ships with cargoes bound for European ports on the Mediterranean....

The Fajr-3 missile.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fajr-3
The Fajr-3 (rarely Fadjr-3) (Persian: فجر-۳) is an Iranian heavy 240 mm intermediate-range[5] multiple-launch artillery rocket (MLRS).[4] The Fajr-3 is a license-built copy, with slight modifications, of a North Korean MLRS called the M-1985.[6] The Fajr-3 was introduced in the 1990s and has since been exported to Hamas and Hezbollah.

The Fajr-3 launcher fires twelve 5.2 meter long, 240 millimeter-calibre Fajr-3 artillery rockets, with a range of 43 kilometres, weighing 407 kilograms each and carrying 90-kilogram fragmentation warheads with 45 kg of high explosive (HE). Fajr means 'dawn' in Arabic.

The Fajr-5

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fajr-5
The Fajr-5 (rarely Fadjr-5, Persian: فجر-۵, "Dawn") is an Iranian 333 mm long-range multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). The Fajr-5 was developed during the 1990s and has since been exported to various armed actors in the Middle East.

The Fajr-5 launcher fires four 6.48 meter long, 333 millimeter-calibre Fajr-5 artillery rockets, with a range of 75 kilometers (50 mi), weighing 915 kilograms each and carrying 175-kg fragmentation warheads with 90 kg of high explosive (HE). Most Fajr-5 rockets are unguided; in 2017 Iran introduced a variant, the Fajr-5C, which adds GPS guidance.

The Fajr-5 is primarily used by the Iranian Army Ground Force to attack large, fixed, high-value targets, like airfields and military bases.[2] In addition, the system is also used by militant groups to target Israel. Finally, the system has a niche role in use by the IRGC-N as an unguided anti-ship rocket system for the Persian Gulf.

Had the parts illegally smuggled in, and built them there, and they are not "advanced", by any means; they are glorified fireworks.

^^^
Too stupid to realize how many innocent people Hamas is killing with "glorified fireworks" packing 100 to 200 lbs of HE in their warheads.

Iranians are by and large very educated people, I remember back in the late 60's we were training them on a ship we were turning over to them . prior to their 79' Islamic revolution they were Israels ally

The leaders of Iran need to be taken out

Guano. Iran is not a problem. Mant lefties on this forum has assured us Iran is a peaceful country and the billions they make from new oil sales is all going for roads and bridges.

The leaders of Iran need to be taken out

If I may ask, what do you think of recent U.S. policy vis a vis Iran and what some would call appeasement? Were we soft on them allowing them to play a bigger role in supporting Hamas?

The supplies and financing need to come from somewhere.

If it was so easy to build them then why wouldn't the WSEs have an arsenal of them?
Given that Gaza is a prison, smuggling them isn't easy. We finance Israel's weapons to the tune of $3 billion/year.

I'm sure Iran funds many terrorist organizations as well. Including Hamas

Hamas produces the vast majority of its own Qassam rockets these days, said the researcher, given the difficulties of smuggling in larger rockets into the blockaded Gaza Strip. How the group manufactures the makeshift rockets is less known. In previous battles with Israel, Hamas was known to have fired rockets made of old water pipes, the researcher noted.

“We have local factories for everything, for rockets with ranges of 250 km, for 160 km, 80km, and 10 km. We have factories for mortars and their shells. … We have factories for Kalashnikovs (rifles) and their bullets. We’re manufacturing the bullets with permission from the Russians. We’re building it in Gaza,” Ali Baraka, head of Hamas National Relations Abroad, told the outlet.

Ergo, Gaza isn't a prison since they have the money and supplies to acquire thousands of these. Name a single white supremacist militia that can build a single one?

Yes, Iran funds terrorism. That's been known since the 80s when they funded Hezbollah, the Party of God, and, a few years later, Hamas. What's remarkable is that Hezbollah is Shia and Hamas is Sunni. IMO, this is an excellent example of the Arab proverb, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Once the Shias and Sunnis kick out all the Christians and Jews, they can go back to murdering each other.
