I really wish that there was someone in the Republican party who was secular and moderate and could win the nomination in 2012. The Republican party really needs someone like Stephen Harper in Canada or David Cameron in the UK leading it, not teabaggers and religious nuts. It really is sad to see the path the the RP has gone down.

Obama isn't even the most like that in the Democratic Party. Not by a long shot. You've got Mark Warner and Jim Webb just off the top of my head.
