Herzog says Israel has ‘no desire’ to reoccupy Gaza

Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Michael Herzog said on Sunday that his country has “no desire” to reoccupy the Hamas-governed Gaza Strip amid the country’s ongoing conflict with the Palestinian-based militant group.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” host Jake Tapper asked Herzog if there are any plans for Israel to reoccupy Gaza and if Palestinians who fled the area will be allowed back in.

“So, we have no desire to occupy or reoccupy Gaza,” Herzog told Tapper. “We have no desire to rule over the lives of over two million Palestinians.”

Apparently they actually thought that they could shove all of the Palestinians into Egypt, that America could successfully pressure Egypt into it.

The Egyptian response is "Pound Sand".
 
It must be remembered that Egypt is rapidly becoming part of China Bloc...they are not afraid of America anymore.

Egypt will open border with Gaza to allow aid for Palestinians as Israel pledges to create humanitarian zone


"Rafah will be open," Blinken told members of the media following his meetings earlier in the day with President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi. "We're putting in place — with the United Nations, with Egypt, with Israel, with others — the mechanism by which to get the assistance in and to get it to the people who need it."


"I assured him [Abbas] that we're working with partners in the region to ensure humanitarian supplies reach civilians in Gaza and to prevent the conflict from widening," Biden said in a Sunday post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, Biden's entreat towards Netanyahu for humanitarian need appeared successful, as Michael Herzog, Israeli ambassador to the U.S., told CNN Sunday that the Jewish state was working with the United Nations towards creating a significant zone to provide humanitarian relief in Gaza.

The overall health of the Palestinians has significantly improved since 1967, whether you look at life expectancy, infant mortality or health care. The total population of Palestine in 2014 was about 4.4 million, of whom some 2.7 million live in the West Bank and 1.7 million in the Gaza Strip. Data reveals that the Palestinian population is growing fast, roughly 2.5 percent a year or, put differently, over 30 percent faster than that of Israel. In the years 2000-2013 alone, the population of Gaza increased by 687,000 people and the West Bank enjoys an almost equally healthy growth rate. The Palestinian population is projected to continue to exceed Israeli growth because of higher fertility rates. According to the UN, by the year 2035, the Palestinian population is expected to increase by nearly 60 percent, compared to 40 percent in Israel. As such, the Israelis are allegedly not only responsible for a genocide which results in an above-average population growth rate, but also one in which the number of victims will eventually surpass that of the perpetrators.

And, as though the situation were not sufficiently bizarre, Israel also provides medical care for her victims, including the families of the enemy’s leadership, and drops leaflets, makes phone calls and gives warning shots before engaging in military action.
