Sorry, I meant coalition governments. That would be where one party votes for another party's leadership. We have never done that in the USA. With the Republicans coming apart, maybe it is time to consider it.

There was more cooperation in the past. Specifically, before "compromise" became a bad word in the Republican Party....about the same time RINO became so popular.

FWIW, if Jim Jordan becomes Speaker, I predict he'll be among the worst Speaker of the House in US history.

There was much more bipartisanship in the past. Even more importantly, there was a sense of leadership, and what we would call today ownership. The majority party would try to keep things from collapsing.

I cannot see the current Republican Party getting a good Speaker.

It's always been my opinion that part of the problem was the Party's reinventing themselves after the Cold War ended. Combined with giving the Christian Right major seats at the table, I think the Republican Party became much, much worse off for it and became dominated by extremist wackos.

This is the point that parties are setting up their ground game. In many battleground states, Republicans are not setting up their ground game. They are not opening their state campaign offices that would help their candidates. Either they are not trying, or they have a very different strategy than before.

Putin is an influence, not the puppet master of America. We truly do get the government we deserve.

Wanna be a lazy fuck and let others do your thinking? Lots of people are willing to do it.

You know this to be true, but too many people on JPP do not realize the flaws in their thinking. Individuals can change, as well as cultures, but cultures can take decades. if not centuries. to change.
