He did not say that. He said that Hamas are Palestinians. Just as the Nazis were Germans, Hamas are Palestinians. They also were elected to lead them. They even have a mandate. You are literally trying to pretend that the elected government of the area is somehow not Palestinian.

Yet it is what you quoted when you started this line of "outrage". You asked if Hamas was Palestine, he answered Hamas are Palestinians, and we got this mess.

This is a logical fallacy in the form of affirming a disjunct. Nazis existed in many nations, even if in tiny numbers, and not all Nazis were German. That is, there were American Nazis, British Nazis, Dutch Nazis, French Nazis, etc. Not all Germans, or any other nationality were Nazis, but Nazis existed in many nations.
 
This thread is unreal.

This mom WAS NOT ADVOCATING FOR HAMAS. It is very possible to advocate for Palestinians, without supporting Hamas.

How is it even possible to not see that?

If all Palestinians are guilty because Hamas is Palestinian, then all Muslims are guilty because the vast majority of Palestinians are Muslim.

Do I have that right? Isn't that the logic that's being argued here?

In my estimation, the elected Palestinian government, elected to take action and through that action represent them, has taken an American Hostage because she's American and they don't care that she held Palestinians in high regard and advocated for them. There may be some Palestinians who hate what their government are doing, but I don't think that Israel, or the world for that matter, should hold back because there are some folks who didn't vote for them.

Just as a few innocent Germans shouldn't and didn't stop the world from fighting Germany, and when prisoners were taken we didn't pretend that Germany didn't take them because there were some Germans that didn't like it.

I disagree w/ most of this, but this is your position & I doubt I can change your mind. I would hope you would at least have a comment on the OP celebrating that this American mom is now at the mercy of Hamas.

That is not what is being argued here, nobody but you have stated that. That is again your own strawman. Strawmen are fun to argue, because they never talk back and you get to make them look as stupid as you want when you build them. However, you are just making up nonsense that nobody stated.
