‘An end of American democracy’: Trump’s historic threat

the unconstitutional election of 2020 was the end of democracy......

The many elections of 2020 were Constitutional. The presidential election has been singled out for criticism by those ignorant or uncaring of the law. True, democracy in this country is under threat but the wisdom of the Founders in distributing government both nationally and between national and state gave us levels of protection difficult to overcome.

Every state election was constitutional. Every one passed muster and was certified.

PMP knows they were, but continues to lie about it.

Her preface observes that the crisis in American democracy crept up on many and draws a direct comparison with the rise of Adolf Hitler, achieved through political gains and consolidation.

“Democracies die more often through the ballot box than at gunpoint,” she writes.

His argument comes down to the proposition that a moot argument can determine a law. In the Wisconsin case the argument is moot because, if for no other reason, certification of the state election rendered it moot. By that act the Wisconsin electoral votes became Constitutionally included in the total count. A strength of the EC is that it settles once and for all any legal challenges that otherwise might linger on.

He’s a failed lawyer hanging on to a failed argument.

The WI situation was never ruled unconstitutional. Their supreme court merely said the WI Election Commission overstepped its authority when it gave guidance to the clerks. Know what was unlawful? The law said ballots had to be delivered to the county clerk. The secure drop boxes 10 feet outside the clerk’s office did not meet their definition. The minority correctly said that’s absurd.

But PMP will continue with his lies.
