Israel certainly has a lot to be blamed for. Or should I say, the Israeli govt.. It's very frustrating for those of us who have been watching this for 50 years and see the issues almost get resolved. Then regime change comes and it goes right back to being a shit show.
We seemed to instigate an Arab Spring movement starting with Dubyah, and it backfired in Palestine. Now we have a terrorist organization running the country that doesn't care about its own citizens, let alone innocent Israelis.
Killing/kidnapping innocents is not the way to garner support from anyone but other terrorists. I'm guessing that Hamas knows that Palestine will cease to exist once they started this campaign, but they don't seem to care. I think they just decided that it was time to see what would happen when Hamas/Hezbollah launch all of their weaponry and manpower at the same time?
I have friends who live in Israel. Thus far, they're ok.

Doubtful. Intelligence agencies tend to be apolitical. The reason is there have to be adults in the room. An example close to home is General Milley not bowing down to trump and warning our enemies we're not going to attact them.
It's likely not his fault. Mossad doesn't care about who's in office they just try to keep Israel safe. But the world would be a much better place without Bibi, that's for sure - so if he takes the blame for the faulure - so be it!

That's the thing. They did see it coming. They let it happen, if not helped it along. They saw the sweetheart deals Ukraine was getting, and decided they wanted a bigger piece of the pie than they already get.
