friggin liars (I mean lawyers)

I see, well once again, President Clinton was dirt poor and graduated from Georgetown in 4 years.

Bill Clinton is 63. Sarah Palin is 45. The age difference is 18 years.

Just seeing how the tuition has sky-rocketed these last 8 years is enough for the rational thinking person to deduce things were a little different when Bubba got his scholarship versus when Sarah tried some 20+ years later.

Next!

FYI transferring schools is the way people avoid having low GPA's.. When I hire I look for someone who went to a college and graduated in 4 years before any other thing including the ranking of the school they graduated from.. I don't even need a GPA to know the person is committed.

People switch majors and many other things happen that can cause a person to take an extra semester or year to graduate. I don't really think you can judge based on 4 or 4.5 years of school to graduate.

And there are lots of stories of people who had to momentarily drop out to care for family members or work because they couldn't afford tuition.

when you got a stack of 100 resumes you need some sure fire ways to weed thru them.. Tho i totally get what your saying. I do know that people also transfer schools because of the loophole which resets GPA.

A few methods i use is to only look at local people
Look at the tenure at previous jobs
As I mentioned the commitment to degree

Remember most jobs are not grooming for executive position. What I want is someone who is going to be reliable, demonstrate they will get the work done, and commit to 3years or so before wanting to move on. Im not hiring rocket scientists so I dont give a shits if the college is ivy or what not.. in fact the worst employees I have had were from ivy thus far in my short few years of being a hiring manager.

Fair enough. I guess depending on what your job requires people will look for different things in a resume.

I only manage lower level positions about 50-80k or so. But point being that in today's environment this is realistically how candidates for jobs are weeded out. Every open req we have gets 100+ resumes lol and people from all over the country. 3 or 4 years ago maybe 20 for a job.

You. It appears you can't even remember the constant correction about my expressed opinions that you simply forgot and assumed in even recent personal history. Just read through the past month or two of threads that you started, you will see what I am saying.

Years we have had conversations, years, and every one of them went into the black hole of your memory.

You often assume I am talking about you, when I am talking about a typical conservatives.... Ive pointed that out often!

Jarod with all due respect you must have an IQ of around 90.

90 = average, but the time I was tested they said I was 119. You must be very smart to be able to determine an IQ based on comments on a discussion board.... Thats like Senator Frist diagnosing Terri Schiavo based on a video!

I'm glad that over 50% of the Congress did not go to law school. I do not believe that laws need to be made by lawyers who, unlike doctors, almost never save lives in the practice of their profession. I'm stunned that while over 50% of Congress did not go to law school the party leadership has an over-representation of that profession.

I dont belive all congressmen/senators should have gone to law school or even college for that matter... I simply belive they should have some serious education in the law and history of our nation and at least western civilization, and having graduating law school is a good indication that they might!

I do not belive its bad that she changed colleges, I do think its bad that from all apperences she is very poorly educated for someone with a college degree.

pot/kettle :pke:

I said "by all apperances", and you may not understand this, but there is a HUGE difference between IQ and being well educated.

While I do belive you can determine the likelyhood that someone is educated or not from a television speech or a position paper... I do not belive you can determine that persons IQ without a scientific analysis.

I got out of the Army in November of 91. Started college in January of 92, graduated May of 95. I guess you take 4 years if you want, 6 years? Only if you are leaving with a Masters.

Kansas used to have the honor of being a state with a large amount of their laws overturned by their own courts. They were also the Legislature with the smallest amount of lawyers in office. Hmmmm, imagine that, knowing how to write laws might actually require a law degree so you understand construction etc.

Yet, they could also have a lawyer on staff to handle the construction. Rather than having a bunch of lawyers who have little clue on those trivial matters such as business, economics, medicine etc....

While this does not apply to Palin, a lot of Universities conveniently schedule orders of classes that make it nearly impossible to graduate within 4 years now. Which provides them with an extra semester or two of tuition. I know my alma matter does just that.

Six years is not that bad if you had to take time off due to funding issues. Though I would be curious as to why someone wouldn't take advantage of student loans if grants, scholarships etc... weren't enough.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Palin actually took any time off at all, let alone for funding issues.
