Obama says anti-terror 'buck' stops with him

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama declared Thursday "the buck stops with me" for the nation's security, taking responsibility for failures that led to the near-disastrous Christmas attack on a Detroit-bound airliner and vowing the problems would be corrected. He said the lapses were widespread but suggested no officials would be fired.

How can you compare the 2 statements?

I wasn't arguing that he didn't take accountability. I was arguing the quote that you posted specifically, and how it didn't mean what you kept arguing that it meant.

i said by stating it was a systemic failure, obama admitted he failed and was responsible....now, he says it again....

Why are you so silly on stuff like this? It's really your m.o. at times. On that thread, you were trying to twist Obama's words into something he didn't mean, and now you're trying to twist my words into something they didn't mean.

I was not, nor have I ever argued, that Obama does not take accountability EVER, at any time. I have stated on this board that the buck stops with him, on everything.

However, I correctly called you for putting words in his mouth on that particular quote. Again, it's your m.o. It's weird how you seem determined to always do that, instead of taking people's words at face value. It's typical "gotcha" stuff.

Bush's idea of accountability was summed up w/ "Brownie, you're doin' a heckuva job!"

His supporters' idea of accountability is to argue that the Dems forced him into invading Iraq by passing a declaration of war...

Remember all the talk about how President Obama's ego was so huge and how he could do no wrong..

Bush fucked up royally causing the needless deaths of 4000 American HEROS and you never heard this type of language from him!
