Green Hills Software produces the Integrity 178B Operating System that powers the F-35, F-22, F-16, and B-2. It also powers the Airbus A380. It was also quite possibly leaked. Now you understand why the entire USMC air fleet has been grounded.
Fun fact: the CEO of Green Hills Software is none other than infamous Elon Musk hater Dan O'Dowd.
So that's why those Marines were walking around South Carolina's woods with an F-35B key fob stopping every 100 feet to push the button!

Actually, they are most concerned about ground crew error. If you knew anything about the combat aircraft, you would know a huge number of things can go wrong with maintenance.
Military planes crash all the time. They are made for combat, not for safety. Their pilots train for combat, which involves doing dangerous things.
To put this into perspective, 131 people have died in F-16 mishaps in the last 48 years, and zero people have died in F-35 mishaps.

Either that, or you just do not want to believe the truth.
They would have been able to track the F-16 and F-18. That would have been better in this situation, but far worse in war.
They actually stated their reason. There have been three Class A mishaps in the last 6 weeks. That could be random chance, or it could be a sign of something, usually a mistake in maintenance.
And before you claim that the Chinese or the aliens have hacked the computers, use some common sense. It is possible, but the Chinese would rather keep a hack like that in their back pocket so they could down all our planes in a war. Downing one or two, and giving us warning would be counter productive.
The Financial Times is reporting that even though these planes are very new the f-35 has an avail rate, meaning they are available for missions, of only 55%. The rest of the time they are being repaired or waiting for parts.
This is of course a disaster, it should be well above 80%.

Mantis wanted mc rates to be above 80%, but he refused to fund the actual work, so they actually declined below 70% for many fighters. We certainly have not had it well above 80% for my lifetime. Maybe back in the 1940's or something.
MC rates go up at first, and then go down a little later in life. F-35 is at the beginning of this. That being said, the newer stealth planes have very bad mc rates. F-22 is worse than the F-35.
On a personal note, we are hitting all the fields I nearly went into.
