UAW or Management?

Are you supporting the workers? Do you think management should pay them more? Do you know it’s the union that is demanding that correct?

Cant you read? I'm not an auto worker so what I think is irrelevant. I don't think that by itself, "We want more money" is a compelling argument. The real question is are you worth more money? Yes I know who's demanding it. Am I supposed to be in awe? The union just raised it's dues for.the first time in 47 years. Sounds wonderful right? You know how the union has been paying their bills? Selling off assets and raiding its strike fund. I'll bet not one union exec had their pay or bennies raided. Also since 2006 the UAW has lost nearly 40% of it's membership. Unions help the union not members.

A lot of Republicans are now pushing these government controlled "workers councils" to keep the workers from organizing themselves into unions.

I'm not in favor of unions or "workers councils". No one is forced to work for a wage they think is too low.

Who do you support the workers or the executives?

The UAW is so late with all this....in a few more months, if not weeks, all these illegals are gonna be released to labor and guys and gals, your days are numbered. I'm union all the way, but the Auto industry makes good damn money and they know it. What should scare the hell out of ya, is AI and Automation...that's the future and that's the money the auto industry is gonna use to get rid of yall. I'm siding with Union, but Wall street is gonna win with this one

It will be interesting to hear trumps speech to the UAW next week.

OMG, that clown, that corporate, I just made you all a ton of money back stabbing liar is gonna talk to the uber rednecks and toms??? If these loons fall for his lies and he's got your back bs, which the Auto industry is paying him well to say shit like that, than they all deserve to be fucked over. The last person anybody who works for a living should support is this orange bitch with bad hair.

I'm pro union, but these guys make good damn money and they know it. Most of the work is done by machines and robots and they know this too. They all see the writing on the wall and they're doing a last dish effort to drain the auto industry before their jobs are replaced and the UAW knows this. They're trying to protect their union dues. I'm not hating on unions, but they're not gonna win with this one this time....too many immigrants needing and wanting jobs and too many lazy gravy auto workers to greedy for money they don't deserve. A guy or gal working at a burger joint works ten times as hard as these ppl and make pennies on the dollar. What these ppl need to do, like the coal minors will do, is learn a new trade....AUTOMATION IS THE NEW BLACK AND OUR FUTURE, DUMMIES

UAW members are some of the greediest whores in the labor force. They do deserve to share in the spoils that resulted from the raping of the American consumer since Covid, but I think there should be bonuses paid that are commensurate with profits.

Said profits should be calculated before dividends, share buybacks, and CEO bonuses.

The union (rightfully so) was forced to give back quite a few perks when they needed a bailout. Back then, workers who were laid off got 95% of their pay according to the contract.

Do I have to repeat that? Laid off workers received 95% of their pay to sit home. Senior members fought to be the first who were laid off.

Floor moppers were getting almost $30/hour. During boom times it doesn't matter. During lean times the unions must give something back.

Right now the union has a point. The big three have raped consumers for 3 years, and realized record profits.

There is room for pay hikes for new employees who make 1/2 of what senior workers get.

They did get taken advantage of by the auto companies in that they took enormous cuts that were claimed to be required to save the companies, and the compensation for this the profit sharing is extremely iffy and long delayed compensation....not to mention workers cant trust with the companies or the union overseers to keep the books honestly. But at the same time labor approved fucking over new workers so I dont have any sympathy for them.

I grew up in a union home. My father was an unskilled worker who was part of the Teamsters.

I'm not pro union, but I support their right to collectively bargain. That didn't work out very well for the greedy air traffic controllers under Reagan.

It also accounts for the offshoring of millions of manufacturing jobs over the decades. There are non union auto manufacturing plants in the south that pay very well. With Republicans busting unions at every turn, strikes like this one will further reduce the number of union shops in the nation.

When that happens, the workers are in trouble.
