More than 50% of my family lives in Canada.

While neither the Canadian nor the US system is perfect, no one in Canada is going broke for health care.

The Canadian system is geared to deal with the top ~90% of health issues for ~90% of the population but is not great for the highest end services that money can buy such as speed of diagnosis and treatment. Thus the thriving US border State practices that offer wealthy Canadians the ability to beat the line.

The US system is geared to the wealthy and corporations and massively fails the bulk of individual citizens, who either are not wealthy, not working or get dropped from coverage.

There are something like 1000MM Americans struggling with medical debt. 40% of all US personal bankruptcies are due to medical debt. And many families are put to the decision every day of do we spend a ton of money on a treatment that 'may not work' or do we just let the person die.


America is unique in the first world for that. People opting to die when treatment is available as they do not want to burden their family with debt, and then still die anyway.


Canada wins this comparison, hands down.

I have seen untold numbers of negative ads against Lauren Boebert over the last year. It is insane how much money they have dropped on this race that they lost by fewer than 600 votes last election.
