I used to to go to Kowloon in Saugus many times when I lived down there. Isn't Kowloon shut down for good now. I used to work at the Hilltop Steakhouse along Rte. 1 in Saugus as well. Great place, but that's shut down for good as well.
Also went to Saugus high school along Rte. 1 as well, and that building has been torn down as well and they built a new one just yards away.

Hilltop had an atmosphere more like a cowboy cafeteria than like a great restaurant,
but the food was quite good and the prices were reasonable.
No reservations; long lines until near the end.
That's gone for good, but the big sign remains as an historic landmark.
I had a ride in Frank Giuffrida's [owner] Rolls Royce once.
His beach house was near my family's and we knew him.
Kowloon is open
but planning to build a smaller venue
because they got too good an offer for their real estate.
