The inevitable EV implosion

Guess if one doesn't understand isotope fractionation chemistry one might think that...

You guys keep saying that. Let us know when it REALLY happens. In the meantime I'll enjoy driving for free (I charge on my solar at home) and having less scheduled maintenance and acceleration beyond anything you can get out of your vehicle.

Ooooo. Buzzwords to thound thmart, right along with the usual chants.

1. Global warming is a fundamentalist style religion. You routinely deny and discard the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics and the Stefan-Boltzmann law.
2. There is no EV 'honeymoon'. Less than 1% of the cars on the road are EVs. There's a reason.
3. You are not charging on solar at home. There is no solar power at night. If you drive an EV, you are constantly worried about recharging the damn thing. You cannot drive the car while you are charging it. Charging an EV purely by solar power requires days. This chant of yours doesn't work.
4. There is not less scheduled maintenance with an EV. Tesla, for example, is the most recalled car in history. EVs still need to be washed, tires and brakes changed, etc. Tires and brakes on an EV are more expensive because of the heavy weight of the car. Worse, the EV requires special tools and equipment to handle them, while a gasoline car can be easily maintained at home with simple tools.
5. It's not a drag race. Acceleration is the EVs only advantage. It's handling sucks, due to the heavy weight of the battery.
6. EVs are a serious fire hazard. Simple corrosion or damage to a single battery in the pack for any reason can lead to battery fire while the car is just sitting there, quite possibly destroying your house with it.
7. EVs use almost twice the energy of a gasoline car, due to the lost energy as heat at the power plant, the transformers, the power transmission line, and of course the battery itself.

Truth Denier also believes Trump won the 2020 election so you have to consider that when he says "The electric vehicle honeymoon is over"

There was no 2020 election. The election faulted due to election fraud by Democrats. Had that not occurred, Trump would quite probably have won.
There never was an EV 'honeymoon'. Less than 1% of the cars on the road are EVs. There's a reason. EVs suck.

Amen to how much better public transportation is abroad, but American fell in love with the automobile and highways, it’s a shame we didn’t do both, especially in large cities or to travel the country.

Rail doesn't work between cities for a reason:

Aircraft.
Freeways.

The fact that you hate cars is YOUR problem.

They have a range of over 250 miles.
Cheesy range, and driving that distance means a full recharge requiring hours to days.
Define short commute. The fact is they have enough range for almost every normal drivers use.
They do, but you are constantly worried about recharging the damn car.

I can use my gasoline car to not only commute, but drive long distances. I don't have to refuel every night like you do. Indeed, I only need to refuel my car once every couple of weeks when using it to commute, and THAT only takes a few minutes!

But they only go where the rails go.

Which is almost everywhere. If you know how to walk or can get a taxi you are set.

I used to fly monthly into Schiphol in Amsterdam, walk downstairs and catch the train over to Maastricht where I would simply walk to the hotel.

When I would work in Raisio Finland I'd fly into Helsinki, jump on a bus, then 5 minutes later at the train station then onto Raisio.

Working in Paris France I would jump on the Metro down to the center of Paris and do my touristy stuff on the weekends.

I can't think of a case of mass transit in Europe that I EVER said "Gosh I wish I had my car here!"

On this board, you will see the EV haters, who do not have them,
By definition.
claim they are experts on them.
I am.
People who own them and have real-life experience are insulted and told they have no practical knowledge.
Nah. You just make up shit and ignore all of your high costs and inconvenience associated with owning an EV. You do it because it's 'politically correct' to own an EV. You actually think you are 'saving the planet'! Guess what, dude. The planet is quite big enough to take care of itself. It doesn't need 'saving'.
The truth is EV owners almost all love them.
That's not the truth either. Quite a few have dumped the EV and went back to gasoline cars. You've even commented on some of them!

Your blatant lies aren't working, Nordbutt.

Which is almost everywhere.
Nowhere near it!

Since most European countries are so tiny, it's not a big problem getting around in them.

Oooooo. EIGHT miles! I'm impressed!
When I would work in Raisio Finland I'd fly into Helsinki, jump on a bus, then 5 minutes later at the train station then onto Raisio.
Oooooo. 97 miles! I'm impressed!

The States are considerably larger than the little playground you call 'long distances'.

Seattle to Spokane is 280 miles. Most people just drive it. They can leave when they want, haul anything with them they want, don't have to deal with TSA or other morons at airport or bus or train stations, they don't have to put up with odd weirdos on trains or crying babies next to you in airplanes, don't have to sit in a crammed seat, have their car with them while tooling around in Spokane, and then they just drive home.

Los Angeles to Las Vegas is 295 miles. Most people just drive it. They can leave when they want, take their friends with them for the same price as driving by themselves, they have their car with them while tooling around in 'vegas', enjoy a night or two of gambling and seeing the sights, then drive home.

Why do you hate cars and freeways?

Look, I don't dislike trains (I used to work on one!), but they are completely impractical for passenger use in the States except for commuter trains, and then only limited usefulness there. Aircraft and freeways are what put most passenger service out of business. That's for a reason. There used to be a train, for example, from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. It failed. It no longer runs.

Get a passport and travel.

:rofl2: Yep, Oscillator fancies himself as a rocket scientist.

 Moron thinks he doesn't pay for electricity. DUMB.

Don't need to be a rocket scientist. Earth scientist will do just fine.

You're an earth MORON. Nothing more.

Each month because I produce more electricity than I use. I haven't paid for electricity for more than 2 months in the past 7 years.

Another dumb lie. I don't think you can post without lying and looking like a moron. Your rooftop solar can't produce enough to charge a Tesla halfwit. :palm:
