WASHINGTON, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump said he dismissed the views of his own lawyers in continuing to challenge his 2020 defeat because he did not respect them, saying in an interview aired on Sunday that he had made up his own mind that the election had been "rigged" - a false claim that he continues to make.

"It was my decision," Trump told NBC's "Meet the Press" program, that the election was "rigged" against him, adding that he relied heavily upon his own "instincts" in coming to that conclusion.

Trump has continued to make false claims that the election was stolen from him through widespread voting fraud.

His attorneys must be so frustrated

Can you imagine his defense lawyers? Watching the interview and throwing up as he destroys yet another potential defense to his criminal activity.

Thanks Donald.

BTW, it is an objective fact that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. Period. Anyone who believes otherwise is simply too fucking stupid to participate in society and should be shunned and scorned. Which is what's going to happen over the next year or so. They are all going to crawl back into the woodwork.

Yup.

And of all his weak defenses that was one of the only ones with some veneer of viability.

It still would have failed, as one cannot throw away the opinion of all your top legal advisers (AG, WH Counsel, etc) and keep searching until you get the answer you want. The law actually addresses that. But advice of counsel generally is a thing.

But still the biggest problem Trump has, is that without him getting on the stand to testify and convince a jury, the case the lawyers could present would be so much weaker. Most of Trumps' claimed defenses would require him take the stand and his lawyers know he is too stupid and demented to allow that to happen. Trump could take the stand over a parking ticket and walk into 10 felony charges as he is that dumb.

I wonder how many of his attorneys will now resign? What a shitty job -- defending a corrupt idiot who openly admits to committing the felonies he's been charged with.

OH MY ALLAH!!!

Speech crimes must be SEVERLY punished. The price of speaking against the Reich must be so high that NONE will DARE speak against our GLORIOUS RULERS of the democrat party.

My guess is they won't. Because resigning lets their former client delay even longer. I think they are in for a pound. I guarantee there is something in his retainer agreement that states something like 'We advise you not to discuss anything about the case in public. If you ignore this advice, counsel will not be held responsible for any statements you make in public'.

Yes, he ADMITTED to speaking words offensive to the democrat Reich.

What a fool, does he have a fantasy about the rule of law and a first amendment? democrats have ended those.

"The Party shall decree laws regulating the freedom of religion, and abridge the free exercise to ensure all worship is of the state, and will regulate speech, and the press to ensure compliance to party goals, and does prohibit the people from assembling to petition congress for grievance. " - The rewritten amendment per the ruling revolutionary dictatorship - the Fucked Amendment.

Yep. Protection against an appeal based on "ineffective assistance of counsel," as well. You can bet that every time one of them has advised him to STFU, they've documented that.

Nothing to do with free speech.

It is nothing other than speech.

The fascist/Marxist revolution has made clear that speech if a massive danger to objectives of the Reich and will be severely punished.

What is it that Xi's said through his puppet dictator Joe? "Words are more dangerous than guns. We are moving to disarm our enemies - why would we allow them to speak?"
