Nobody was banking on impeachment we are waiting for the criminal charges to be filed and the investigations are still going on.

As McCarthy said, impeachment was just a step in the process, it was never the end goal.

On September 1, only two weeks ago, Joe McCarthy said he would be holding a floor vote to open an impeachment inquiry.

Just got home. I hadn't heard that McCarthy backpedaled?

I think I said a few days ago that there were enough sane Republicans to keep the loons at bay.

This is win/win for the idiot McCarthy. He knows ( I hope) that impeachment is a political blunder. So he gets to show his puppetmasters that he tried, but the adults in the room didn't agree.

How would I feel about trump's impeachments if it were Hillary as POTUS, doing everything trump did that warranted impeachment?

Would I think that Hillary inciting mobs of 'moonbats' to attack the Capitol, is merely 1st Amendment stuff?

No different. I've said it more than once. Successful impeachments gain momentum and bipartisan support as they progress. If they don't, they should be dropped by the party bringing it because they will fail. That goes for anyone that is subject to impeachment.
