Wind and solar failures, along with other "Green" disasters in the news

Seems wind and solar are ever proving to be the economic disasters I keep saying they are. Companies heavily invested in these technologies are losing their asses and many are going bankrupt. Leftist government, who wants this shit, is being forced to pony up billions in taxpayer money to subsidize "Green" tech because of it.

Second wind developer moves to terminate contracts

The MSM tries hard to downplay this, but it's been happening steadily for over a decade now. As the Left pushes out wind and solar, energy prices rise dramatically, companies that get into the industry struggle then go under, and both our energy supply and grid become increasingly unstable.

They lineup for the Solyndra-style mutli-million dollar handouts, then split with the leftovers, after going bankrupt.

You have it wrong. They line up for the government handouts, get idiot investors to put in more, give themselves huge salaries while piddling around enough to not get in legal trouble, and when the money runs out they go into bankruptcy.

Wash, rinse, repeat...

Now, the True Believers... They get government handouts, get idiot investor to put in more, try hard to make solar and wind work, and then go bankrupt without anything to show for it.

It would help if the gear was correctly manufactured....that certainly has not been so for windmills.

That's not the problem. The problem is that wind and solar are unreliable energy sources and they generally are oversold and calculated as to efficiency. That is, on paper they are calculated to run at a profit. In reality, they fall far short of expectations and lose money.

There are several US windfarms off the East Coast now that have discovered this after just a few years of operation and the owners bought out their existing contracts to be able to renegotiate a much higher per kwh / mwh cost to buyers for a new contract. It was cheaper for them to shell out tens of millions on buying out the contract than lose hundreds of millions filling it. The new contracts result in much higher consumer prices for electricity.

This is why states heavily into wind and solar are seeing their electricity prices go from .12 to .15 cents a KWH to .20 to .25 cents a KWH.

Improper construction of windmills has been hugely financially impactful to the industry, and has as well smashed the reputation of the players.

What major technology wasn't characterized by failures initially?

Good thing we didn't abandon cars, planes, computers, et al. because of early failures.

Here we go again. The right wing anti alternative energy chorus is singing the same sad refrain. We know better.
