Ethan Nordean and Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes have received the longest sentences yet in connection with the attack

A prominent member of the neo-fascist Proud Boys gang who led a mob of dozens of members into the US Capitol on January 6 has been sentenced to 18 years in prison, one of the largest sentences to date in connection with the assault in the halls of Congress.

Ethan Nordean, who used the alias Rufio Panman, was convicted of seditious conspiracy along with three other Proud Boys earlier this year for conspiring to forcefully oppose the lawful transfer of presidential power, then unleashed mob violence to upend an American election.

I wonder if they'll form a club at ADX Florence with the other terrorists?

OTOH - the DC cops killed two unarmed women at J6 and the press says they are heroes.

And he didn't do anything.

Now it's two, Tranny Dick? Last year, in 2022, it was only one.

Are you going to visit him in prison? Show him your man-tittie? Maybe your tranny dick collection?

Yes, the Proud Boys fell victim to some of Americas strictest laws with some of the more hefty sentences of all the crimes on the books.

Biden is still having a conscience over his strict crime bill, that he had much to do in getting it passed years ago, of course now thinks was an over-reation on his part. Not that anything in that bill has anything to do with the crimes of the Proud Boys today. But he has had a change in heart about our Justice System, and believes that sentences for crimes in this country are too lengthy and severe now. He now wants to see sentences become lighter for just about every Federal crime.

Biden does not want to see White People being treated like Blacks- He just wants to see Black People treated like Whites.

I have a feeling before Biden leaves office he will probably see to it that a lot of the 1/6 violators have their sentences reduced, or paroled!

We'll see, but I believe he believes these sentences are too severe! And I believe he will be the one to do something about it.

If those were Black people instead of white on Jan 6th the national guard would have been called out and they would have been shot

I hope to hell not. That would just send a terrible message to the next wannabe private army #TRE45ON (or future copycat dictators) gathers.

Prison has to be a truly horrific experience.

Nature adds to the dilemma by making it impossible for one to anesthetize oneself before suicide.

I doubt that many people would actually report to prison if the latter were possible.

Hopefully they are all lodging in separate prisons with no means of communication with the others.

I'm curious to learn which prison they'll be sent. ADX Florence is where all the best terrorists are sent.

America’s only federal supermax prison is home to some of the world's most dangerous criminals, including names you might recognize—Mexican kingpin El Chapo, Ted Kaczynski (aka the Unabomber), and Boston marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Here, the infamous men you never knew resided in the Centennial State.

I hear there are openings at Gitmo. lol

If it was up to me, I'd make them swim there, but GITMO is reserved for extrajudicial foreign terrorists. Domestic terrorists get to stay in Federal accommodations stateside.

I'm looking forward to seeing cases against all those who gave money to these domestic terrorists or otherwise supported them.

One very consistent trait of "true believers" is their inability to distinguish vengeance from justice.

Justice is a state responsibility.
Vengeance is a personal one.

If you have a personal grudge against somebody,
it's your own job to settle it yourself.

Don't look for somebody to send someone to Gitmo for you.

Italians understand this better than most.
We're civilized.
We introduced the shave and haircut to Europe when the rest of you were skulking around like so many Wookies.

These prosecutions have had a good deterrent effect on the rightwing fat asses who spent years on the internet blustering about second amendment solutions. Even when Trump begs them to "take it to the streets" and unleash violence, they choose to stay hunkered down behind the safety of their Cheeto-stained keyboards.

If you compare all of the Free countries around the globe, America has the highest prison terms for just about every crime.

Seditious Conspiracy convictions have a 20 year maximum sentence, and that was established 3 centuries ago. And of course those sentences are adjusted by how much violence were involved in the actions of the perpetrators. Also there were other crimes involved such as money laundering etc. that also determines their sentence as well. And in the cases of the proud boys, their actions were violent, and other crimes were involved as well. As police officers were harmed personally by the defendants, so that is why they were sentenced with longer prison sentences.

I don't personally have a problem with their lengthy sentences.

I am just saying overall that America has longer prison sentences than most other civilized nations for most crimes.

And there may be efforts to lower some of America's stiffest penalties in the future.

When you have such high maximum sentences, minorities tend to receive the maximum sentence more so than White criminals due to not having as good of lawyers that are better at getting sentences reduced at the outcome of trials. But, not this time, as the Proud Boys got hammered by the stiff arm of the law this time. AND GOOD!

Just wanted to point all of this out.

Didn't mean to open up a can of worms.
