So now MAGA wants to pay to teach kids how to shoot a bow and arrow?

No, but retired people and people who can afford it are. People who are risking being able to make a living where you have to drive 50+ miles to any decent paying job are, even young people wanting to start a family who don’t want to raise their kids in a metropolitan area are.

Point being, a lot of us like “podunkville” and all the things that go along with it. Maybe it is an unnecessary relic and maybe it doesn’t define America. But it is a piece of Americana, and it’s a lifestyle we don’t want messed with.

With that being said, I can tell you as a fact that I would not do well trying to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, much less the New York Cities, LA’s, Bostons, etc of our country. Glad to be where I am. I’m more like Briar Gates than I am Truman.
Excellent points about retirement, jobs and "podunk" towns. I do not see much difference between these ideas and the dreams of moving to the suburbs in the 50s and 60s. People commuted for an hour or more by car or train to their city jobs but preferred to live in the quietness of the suburbs. This is not a new idea.

Like you, I dislike living in cities. Young people like it because it's closer to entertainment, bars and other meeting places for meeting people along with public transportation either because they can't afford cars/city parking or DUI laws. Americans should be able to choose. The main thing that bothers me is the political conflict between city and suburb/rural where one side seeks to pass one-size-fits-all legislation.

The bolded above is absolutely a problem…and it goes both ways as I’m sure you know. And for my profession it’s magnified in a state like Oklahoma with the nuts Stitt and Walters at the helm.

”Republicans unveil effort to claw back school funds Biden admin is holding over hunting, archery classes”

“FIRST ON FOX: A group of House Republicans led by Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., are unveiling legislation to reverse the Biden administration's crackdown on school hunting education and archery programs nationwide.”

“Tenney — joined by Reps. Russ Fulcher, R-Idaho, Jim Banks, R-Ind., and Brandon Williams, R-N.Y. — plans to introduce the Protecting Hunting and Archery in Schools Act, which would remove the current federal restriction on funding hunting and archery programs.”

“The Biden administration continues to advance its radical anti-Second Amendment agenda by prohibiting ESEA funding for archery and shooting sports programs”

Their constantly bitching on how schools suck yet they want to pay to teach kids how to shoot arrows, and the best part is that suddenly this is now a Second Amendment issue

And the MAGA militia eats up all this shit propagandized by Murdoch to make a buck

 Uneducated moron doesn't know that the act is already in existence and it's about hunter safety and not a mandatory course. Of course, in the small tiny low IQ minds of morons like arsecheese, it's teaching them how to shoot arrows.

Yes, leftists are that fucking stupid. :palm:

legislation to reverse the Biden administration's crackdown on school hunting education and archery programs nationwide

If Biden wants to cut the funding for archery then the schools will just do what they often have to do and fund it themselves... teachers and coaches often have to do this when an activity is shunned by the system/goverment but the interest is there... we had to get sponsors, donations, and use our own money when we first started our swim team... and we didn't take a coaching salary...

You were on the muff diving team in HS

Aren't those after school activities? No one is forcing kids to participate.
Everyone had to take the hunter safety course in 6th grade when I was
in school. It was taught by the PA. Game Commission. Maybe that's why
my generation didn't shoot up schools? Possibly because we were taught
safety and respect for firearms and hunting?

Many after school activities have a proportion of federal funding. For example, Boys and Girls Clubs. This isn't me advocating for or against federal funding, but rather a level playing field. What we have here is the administration picking after school activities on the basis of personal (Leftist) politics and yanking funding from those that don't match their politics.

As for your, our, generation, back then single-motherhood was looked on as a bad thing whether it was by design or accident. Most families didn't have both parents working, divorce was far less common and had negative connotations attached, and a somewhat stable homelife was more the norm. Kids got to explore the world and do things that were less than 100% safe on a regular basis.

It's called archery, dullard, and many school gym classes have it.

He truly is...and in addition, being one who doesn't have a heart or soul, has not a single clue about schools, teaching, education, or children....

And there's our triggered racist's cowardly racist gf, rushing to dogpile as usual. Or were you talking about yourself, which would have been far more accurate? Now run back to your angry, hangry spider web and declare this thread "yours." Scoot! :rofl2:

We never had to take hunter safety classes in h.s. People did that on their own. Why would a state require that when the vast majority of kids don't live where they could hunt, and have no interest in it anyways? Sounds bogus to me.
