I would not argue that a POTUS, past or present, can be arrested for a crime.
Maybe a present one would have to impeached and then convicted by the senate first--I honestly don't know.

We'll soon see if he/she can be actually convicted of a crime.
If so, we'll then see if his/her hand-picked SCOTUS will let the conviction stand.

SCOTUS authority cannot be defined by mere statute.

It would require a constitutional amendment to alter it in any way,
and the procedure for amending the constitution
is so difficult
that in our polarized nation
we may never see another constitutional amendment again.

It would require far more consensus that may ever again be possible.

Right now, the only way to bring the Trump SCOTUS under control would be to appoint four additional liberal justices,
bringing the total to thirteen,
and both Joe Manchin and Kersten Sinema have already expressed that would help the Republicans block that.
