Biden, for whom I voted, screws up.

I will personally go out and kill cows to get my steak if I have to.

No government will ever deprive me of my right to a new york strip.

Cows live on dairy farms.

Sadly, castrated male bovines become steaks, roasts, and burgers.

This is one species where it's best to not be born male.

Even if they don't castrate you, they could let some idiot Spaniards or Mexicans kill you for tasteless spectacle in an arena.

I saw on the evening news last night that Joe Biden just overturned the one intelligent thing that Donald Trump ever did in his entire life----

stall the incandescent light bulb ban.

Do you have any idea how many very expensive, decorative light fixture and chandeliers are hereby rendered worthless?
I suppose that if you don't have any, you don't care. Civilized people do.

Not even 4-watt [they used to be 7] nightlight bulbs?
Even decorative "Christmas Village" displays rely on nightlight bulbs.

Hippie Democrats have taken their eyes off the important issues
for which we FDR type Democrats have been fighting for 100 years.

They worry about shit like this.

It's very discouraging.

Using your logic...

In the 17th century, German Christians combined the burning of the Yule log with the Christmas tree, adorning the branches with candles and thus the tradition of illuminated Christmas trees began.

Using your logic, makes me ask- Why did people stop using candles to light their Christmas trees?

I mean, do you think it might have to do with safety reasons?

Because I truly believe incandescent Christmas Tree, outdoor House Lights, and Christmas Village displays pose a Fire hazard.

Perhaps because people tend to string so many of these things together, creating so much heat on the wire that carries the electricity, the insulation on the wire may eventually inflame, and it can start fires.

The leading cause for holiday fires is electrical failures with tree lights. Be sure not to connect more than three strands of mini-strings or have more than 50 screw-in bulbs. It is crucial to keep live trees well-hydrated. A dry tree not only can catch fire but will burn faster than newspaper.

They transitioned to light bulbs when they became available, even though they were not as pretty, for reasons of safety.

Then they transitioned to LEDs, even though they were not quite as bright, for energy efficiency.
Also, this even further reduced the likeliness of fires due to less heat on dry branches.

How stupid do you think I am?

I know that replacing incandescent bulbs is the right thing to do for a better future.
I know that replacing internal combustion engine cars is the right thing to do for a better future.

I also know that I'm 76 and don't give a fat fuck about the future as compared to my personal convenience.

You, Geek, are clearly smart enough to have figured this out for yourself.
Are you just breaking balls here?

No! I intended no harm or insult, in my comments to anyone, including you.

I was basically just noting that modern technologies provide alternatives that are much safer, and economical.

Did Biden say he was going to force anyone to not use their existing Holiday Decorations?

I'm just trying to understand how Biden failed you, that's all!

They still taste good.

I have expensive light fixtures that use fancy, designer incandescent bulbs.

I am told, however, that appropriate LED bulbs for such fixtures are likely forth coming,
and if that is so, that would in fact mitigate the problem somewhat.

Hopefully Home Depot will continue to carry the replacement lamps for your fixtures.

I had these rather expensive towering beautiful floor-standing Modern Art Torch Lamps that matched my decor in the living room that I dearly loved. They used one of those High Intensity lamps that you could dim, but turned up all the way were very hot. BUt I loved them all the same.

One day, some giant Moth must have come into my house and I didn't notice it. It apparently Hari-Caried itself into the lamp, and started a small fire that stunk up the entire house, and caused the lamp to fail as it burned out the wiring and the bulb and even the dimmer that lay on the floor.

The bulb itself would have been a 20.00 replacement. SO I decided to convert the lamps over to LED with some simple and inexpensive light kits, with transformer and dimmers, that I purchased for about the same cost.

They are brighter than ever now, and pose no fire hazards and they will more-than-likely out live me now without ever having to replace anything in them ever again.

I was really happy with the result, it was an easy fix, and I can still enjoy these beautiful lighting fixtures forever now.
