Donald Trump said he expects he could be indicted “any day now” as part of special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the January 6 insurrection.
Smith has been looking into Trump’s efforts to remain in office following his 2020 election defeat to Joe Biden. Federal prosecutors have assembled evidence to charge Trump with three crimes, the Guardian has reported: obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and a statute that makes it unlawful to conspire to violate civil rights.

Trump Employee Released on Bond After Court Appearance in Documents Case

Carlos De Oliveira, the property manager of Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald J. Trump’s private club and residence in Florida, appeared in court for the first time on Monday to face charges of conspiring with Mr. Trump to obstruct the government’s monthslong efforts to retrieve highly sensitive national security documents from the former president after he left office.

This couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Atlanta braces for possible indictments for Trump, allies in 2020 election investigat

ATLANTA — For more than two years, people here and across the country have watched and waited for clues that the high-profile Georgia investigation into whether former president Donald Trump and his allies broke the law in their attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state was winding to an end.

That speculation hit fever pitch in recent days with the installation of orange security barriers near the main entrance of the Fulton County Courthouse in downtown Atlanta. It was the most visible sign yet of the looming charging decision in a case that has ensnared not only Trump but several high-profile Republicans who could either face charges or stand witness in a potential trial unlike anything seen before in this Southern metropolis.

I can't wait to read the indictment. I bet some others in Congress will be indicted as well.
The corrupt Republiclowns are going down.

Trump is a one man crime spree, as Chris Christie has said.

Mo Brooks has done some bigly walking back. Too late. He was a speaker and an active participant in stirring up the insurrection. None of them should escape justice.

They are bogus charges.

All Trump said was to find me some votes so to actually convict him you need to prove intent.

You need to show he intended to mean illegally and he said or did nothing that you could prove in a court of law that would make that indication.

Trump will simply argue that "find me the votes" was something he meant legally.

He also never threatened or coerced anyone with threats to do so.

This case will go nowhere.

It's just another attempt to bog him down in stupid lawsuits.

We all know that Trump will lie about it. That's nothing new.

So every state charge,37 Federal charges are all "bogus"?

So every state charge,37 Federal charges are all "bogus"?

Six of them are all the same charges essentially, once one is dismissed they all will be.

The other 31 fall under the espionage act which doesn't even apply here.

For them to stick you would need to prove that Trump had intent to harm America or that his actions did hurt America by using those documents.

Trump obviously didn't, they were for his personal use.

The espionage act charges are literally a joke, it's only the six charges that have any meat to them but they are technically covered under the PRA which allows the president to consider any document his own.

That will be a tough one for the prosecution to prove in court and it's doubtful they can do it with any reasonable doubt.
