Not surprising, when was the last time Americans polled said the economy was good? Americans always will say it is bad, cynical by nature
As I’ve mentioned, you can watch a big sporting event with sellout crowds on TV and guarantee if you polled those fans upon leaving on the state of the economy the majority would say it sucked even though they just paid big bucks to attend a sporting event.
And if you are attempting to relate it to 2024, Biden, who has bought the economy along, will never get credit, but if he maintains such till the election it will lessen considerably the attacks the GOP can launch on the economy. Tough to sell a rotten economy when people are working and inflation is fading
https://thehill.com/opinion/finance...d-an-economic-record-that-will-be-remembered/Let us examine the success in the first three years of his administration before the coronavirus flattened the economy. The unemployment rate fell less than 4 percent, which was near the lowest in half a century. The inflation rate fell to 1 percent, which was even below the target level set from the Federal Reserve. This has kept the interest rates on mortgages and many other loans down to the lowest level in modern times.
The portion who fell below the poverty line declined to the lowest level ever recorded in 2019. The wealth of households, including their stocks, savings, and real estate, rose to the highest level in history. The Census Bureau saw the median income rise to above $65,000, up by more than $5,000 in three years and double the gains from the last decade.
Almost all of these benefits were most pronounced for minorities, notably Blacks and Hispanics. Liberals counter this record by saying that Trump is now the first president in modern times to lose jobs in four years. This was clearly a result of the pandemic and, unless the left blames Trump for the coronavirus, the critical issue is how well the economy rebounds.
Trump's economy at this time in his Presidency was MUCH better than Biden's currently.

All Trump did was continue the trajectory he inherited from Obama.
Biden inherited the mess Trump then created.
Put those hallucinogenics down. The GDP was declining under Obama when Trump took office it was 0.12%After COVID hit? Not great but certainly better than other industrialized countries stricken by COVID. Maybe Biden should have told his boss in China to not make COVID. But COVID is over now thanks in part to the TWO vaccines Trump helped to develop in record time. So the economy should be smoking again. It is not. Inflation is 16% higher than it was when Trump left office. People's net income is down. Biden is trying to put lipstick on a pig but it isn't working for him.How was it when he left office?
That's the measure. Trump was statistically the worst jobs President in modern American history.
When Governors shut down their states and tell people to stay home it tends to hurt jobs. How was it when he left office?

13 million jobs added.
There is no comparison. Once again - a Republican crashed the economy, and a Democrat is building it back.
Just getting back to where things were BEFORE Biden's boss sent the US COVID. That happens when a pandemic goes away and governors start letting people go back to work. Amazing how that worksAgain the GDP was contracting for the last few quarters of the Obama administrationNice cherrypick.
Obama led the longest peacetime recovery in modern times. The trajectory didn't change in Trump's 1st couple of years - then he botched the only crisis he had to deal with.
