More Biden babbling, want to plant a billion trees

when you announce to the board that although the climate cycles occur every 120,0000 years or so, THIS one is caused by man's use of fossil fuels you are confessing to misrepresentation of reality.....

I didn't announce it. That is what has been announced by IPCC, NASA, and every reputable science organization with expertise in climate.

The recent CO2 increase in the atmosphere currently has the isotopic signature of human influence, not natural sources. Mainly an isotopic signature consistent with burning of fossil fuels.

Post the link to where you got that figure

Looking at your graph a second time, I realized the CO[SUB]2[/SUB] graph vertical scale only goes up to 300 ppm

The current level of atmospheric CO[SUB]2[/SUB] is 420 ppm. Substantially higher than the top of the vertical axis of your graph goes.

Here's what the graph of CO[SUB]2[/SUB] data look like when you don't chop off the recent data and make vertical scale stop and peak out at only 300 ppm.

The only remaining question is why did you post a graph that stopped at 300 ppm and left out recent data?

Yep, Joke babbled about wanting to plant a "billion trees."

Biden administration announces plans to plant one billion trees
https://thehill.com/policy/energy-e...n-announces-plans-to-plant-one-billion-trees/

As if this was one of the pressing problems facing the US today. How about doing something about illegal immigration or homelessness? Poverty and war might be things a president focuses on. But with Joke... It's planting trees, a billion of them.

I think the Administration can do more than one thing at time, and the trees aren’t a bad idea, but for one who denies man made climate change, I suppose the trees are just seen as decorations

Planting trees isn't a bad thing.

They should plant trees at the site of all abandoned malls, strip malls, and industrial parks as well.
There sure are enough of them.

Actually, send Bezos and Musk the bill. Let them do something useful for a change.

"recent data" doesn't show up on a scale based on 800,000 years.....you sciency types should realize that...

If your graph didn't cut the vertical Axis off at 300 ppm it could have shown recent CO2 data.

You have not explained why you intentionally picked a graph that excluded recent CO2 data, and why you deliberately chose a graph that cuts off CO2 concentration at a maximum of 300 ppm so it can't show the current CO2 atmospheric concentration of 420 ppm.

not my graph......it's science's graph.....I chose it because it reflected a consistent cycle of warming and cooling every 120,000 years.......you know, like all the other ones that haven't been caused by human activity.......YOUR graph, which has probably been altered by soime idiot whacko is NOT drawn to scientific scale, nor does it depict an ice core sample.......if your data was to scale the temerature change would something like 900 degrees fahrenheit....

I do. And it is undeniably hotter than it has been in at least 50 years.

So? The question is, was it just natural or manmade? The honest answer is, at most the anthropogenic portion is minor to irrelevant and the vast majority of it is naturally occurring.

I accept your confession that you accepted without question a graph that excluded recent CO2 data and chops off the vertical axis at a concentration of 300 ppm, making it impossible to depict the historic and rapid recent rise of CO2 to it's current level of 420 ppm

and I accept your confession that the current cycle of global warming is not caused by human activity and that you believe you can win arguments with grade school tactics....

I am the first one on the thread to mention interglacial periods and Milankovitch cycles. That is presicely what has been happening in the 800k year record of the Dome C Antarctic ice core isotopic data.

So the bottom line is some Rightwing climate denier blog convinced you to use a graph that didn't actually show the alarming and unprecedented increase in recent atmospheric CO2, and you just swallowed it hook line and sinker without actually doing any critical thinking for yourself

what does that have to do with "I accept your confession".......you suck at arguing and look like a fucking third grader......cope.....

While it's true that Biden is ignoring more important issues I have no problem with a program to plant more trees.

I believe this should be a standard for every administration.

It pretty much has been, as just about every president had some kind of initiative to re-forest our country.

President Trump signed an XO to plant a trillion trees. During the first three years of the Trump Administration, the Department of the Interior alone planted more than 58 million trees and was on track to plant an additional 22 million trees by the end of 2020. TRUMP also called for the passage of the REPLANT Act (S. 4357) to help address the Forest Service’s reforestation backlog and continued annual reforestation needs, and also the introduction of the Trillion Trees Act (H.R. 5859), a bipartisan bill to plant one trillion trees globally and encourage the use of wood products for carbon sequestration.

It is the president's duty to look after the US Re-forestation needs. And all of them did a pretty good job doing so. And give Donnie some well deserved credit for doing a good job for at least trying to get er' done. At one time, Trump was credited for creating over 140,000 jobs for carrying out his order to plant the trees.

Biden is just trying to do his job of Re-forestation-in-chief, and carry that torch through his time in office, and doing a good job, as he has already provided the funding to do so. And he got bi-partisan support to get his Bill signed where the money will come from now.

Trump was never able to fully fund his Re-forestation efforts because of Republican resistance in Congress, but the Democrats were all on board with Trump's Re-forestation efforts in a very non-partisan way.

If Donald Trump could have gotten the funding to complete his projects on Re-forestation, this would have been the largest Contribution to the preservation of trees in America since Theodore Roosevelt. Looks like now Biden will get that honor!

It is a damn shame that TRUMP could not get his Republicans to sign on to it. PITY! Republicans are just Deplorable, and they care nothing about our environment or preservation of our natural resources.
