Yep, Joke babbled about wanting to plant a "billion trees."

As if this was one of the pressing problems facing the US today. How about doing something about illegal immigration or homelessness? Poverty and war might be things a president focuses on. But with Joke... It's planting trees, a billion of them.

Global warming is one of the existential issues of our generation.

Trees are a carbon sink, and suck CO[SUB]2[/SUB] out of the atmosphere. It's probably a cheaper and more efficient way of addressing global warming than high tech solutions.

If we hadn't deforested most of the planet, the trees and vegetation of the temperate forests, the tropical rainforests, and the boreal forests probably could have absorbed and sequestered a lot of the CO[SUB]2[/SUB] we have been pumping out.

This would be a good measure for the environment - and in no way takes focus away from other pressing issues. It's not a choice between this & something else.

Well, the planet is hurting. And that's separate of the global warming debate. We have cut down way more trees and destroyed way more habitat than we'd be replacing w/ this.

It's a small measure to try to help the only planet we have right now. How you or anyone thinks our behavior is sustainable beyond this generation is mystifying.

And like I said - it doesn't take anything away from other issues. This thread is just more BDS.

While it's true that Biden is ignoring more important issues I have no problem with a program to plant more trees.

I believe this should be a standard for every administration.

The planet's climate varies. In the US today there are an estimated 300 billion trees

Planting another billion won't make a nickel's worth of difference but it will likely cost something like $100 billion to do it. It's just good money spent poorly on a feel good, leftist notion that we should.

Denying it is a leading indicator of scientific illiteracy.


The preservation of forests and native grasslands, and the expansion of woodlands and teee planting is one of the cheapest and most effective strategies we can use to sequester carbon from the atmosphere.

that is obviously proof that you don't give a fuck about science.....ice core samples show that the current warming cycle is less severe than the last one......and that one occured before humans had discovered fossil fuels....

In the geologic past it was related to volcanoes, Milankovitch cycles, albedo , or the periodicity of solar radiation.

Science has determined with a very high degree of confidence that the current warming trend is largely due to human emissions of heat-trapping GHG.


When you announce the board you are a climate denier it's the same thing as you confessing to being a scientific illiterate.

Wrong. They claim anthropogenic CO2 et al., is accelerating it. That is, it was going to warm up regardless, it's just warming up a bit faster because of people. The scientific illiterates are those that think getting rid of human produced CO2 will stop warming of the planet.

you should publish your data in a peer reviewed journal if you think IPCC, NASA, and NOAA are wrong, and you know better than them.


Geologically we are in an interglacial cycle. Left to it's own devices, the Earth should eventually be in a long term natural cooling trend into the next glacial cycle a few thousand years from now.

But science had determined with 99 percent confidence that human emissions heat trapping GHGs are fueling the current rapid warming trend.

when you announce to the board that although the climate cycles occur every 120,0000 years or so, THIS one is caused by man's use of fossil fuels you are confessing to misrepresentation of reality.....
