Cowboy Obama Launches Unilateral Attack on Sovereign Nation!

Everything else the same, if ANY republican president had launched this attack, and specifically, if Bush had, you lefties would be shitting yourselfs to denounce it. I think that was ultimately dixie's point. Granted I only read about 6 posts before replying, so if this has been said, I second that.

If any lefties posted stories from Arabic news sources 12 months ago, you rightwing fucks would have laughed at the source and probably called the FBI to report said lefty as an radical Islamic, al Qaeda-sympathizer.

Obama didn’t run on a peace platform. He campaigned on a platform to kill or capture al Qaeda by whatever means necessary. Did you really think Obama was some radical Muslim (without a fake birth certificate) in disguise? Of course you didn’t, it’s just your lame attempt at trolling.

As for me, I personally think the entire US military response to what amounted to a criminal act, by a group of thugs was folly. And immoral. And ineffective. But, I’ve never seen on a significant or widespread basis over the last 8 years, any real liberal objection to missile strikes on suspected al Qaeda targets. You just have to invent things, so you can troll for fake example of “lefty hypocrisy”. I just happen to probably be in the extreme Noam Chompsky-esqe minority that thinks all this military shit is just a ruse for other oily agendas..

Al Jazeera is based in Qatar, another US ally. The US has military bases in Qatar.

You never accepted any news from al jazeera as legitimate.

Bush's biggest mistake with Iraq AND Afghanistan, was even going to the UN or attempting diplomatic solutions at all... he should have just started obliterating them with cruise missiles daily!

Yep that's my opinion... Bush's problem was he was a pussy! He had to go run tattle to the UN and try to get them to do something... he spent months and months trying to convince Saddam Hussein to abide by international law, and the public perception became perverted in a hurry! He should have done like Clinton and Obama and just secretly, over the weekend, sent cruise missiles into Baghdad and killed whomever happened to get in the way.... THAT should have been how Bush handled it-- not with all the UN/diplomatic hoopla!

Oh I don't appreciate their foreign policy, I do however respect the fact that stealthy covert secret ops is the best way to go, and what Bush should have done instead of how he did it. The same basic result could have been had eventually... maybe a few hundred thousand more innocents would have died, but if no one ever heard about it, and our news wasn't reporting it, who would care? Just like now... who cares? You see any outrage from the left on this? I don't... not a peep! Obviously it's because it's not plastered all over the TV everyday for 6 months, like Bush and Powell did with the UN kabooky dance.

I do NOT appreciate anything Clinton or Obama did regarding military action, but I do respect the fact their strategies worked for them politically. This is how Bush should have approached Iraq and Afghanistan, just start lobbing fucking bombs in there... don't tell anybody, don't do any tough talks, don't give any speeches... just do it and keep quiet about it! Clinton and Obama will have killed more innocent people than Bush, just because you can't really control where a cruise missile goes... they tend to cause a lot of collateral damage and death to innocents compared to targeted strategic attacks by jets and ground forces.... but what fucking difference does that make to a politician, right? Bush should have been looking out for #1 like Clinton and Obama, and kept it all on the QT... I'm just saying!
