The leader of Spain's opposition conservative party Alberto Núñez Feijóo has claimed victory in a snap election, but without the result he needed.

Even with the support of the far right, his Popular Party (PP) has fallen short of a majority in parliament.

The cheers at the rival Socialist camp were just as loud as Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez declared: "The reactionary bloc has failed."

Spain elections: hung parliament after conservatives fail to secure expected majority

Spain’s opposition conservative party secured the most number of seats in national elections but looked unlikely to secure a coalition rightwing majority after a vote that had raised fears of the far right entering government for the first time since the country returned to democracy after General Franco’s death five decades ago.

Ah, I see you hold a Ph.D. in Orwellian bullshit.

What do you consider a more reliable news service than the BBC?

My ballz. Seriously, my ballz are more honest and reliable than a British government controlled media organ.

And your question illustrates the fact that you missed the point. "more reliable" doesn't mean the BBC is reliable.

This is what I see. The pendulum is swinging back to the Right now. At some point it will swing back Left, but that's in the future.

That is the history of our nation.

No party has kept party for more than three terms outside of Roosevelt which caused us to pass the 22nd amendment.

That is why our nation survives, because we don't ever go to far in one direction.

That is why I always vote for the party not in power.
