Wrong again Iggy. My post is totally responsive to the subject. All the OP posted was that slavery was horrible. Dont listen to Florida. I responded to the post FROM THE BEGINNING. How Slavery began in Africa. Some of you like to skip over the beginning and begin the story in the middle. WHY? Thats DISHONEST. The original sin of slavery in Africa began with the Africans. THAT is FACT. Having said that, in no way does that absolve Europeans from their offences. But it damn sure doesnt absolve the Africans from their role either. DEAL WITH REALITY.
 
That we have (allegedly) decided that slavery, which has almost certainly been going on since the cave men days, is wrong does not change the fact that some slaves had/have very interesting and rewarding lives.

And btw the vast majority of Americans are willfully headed for their chains today as they become the new serfs.

Wrong. I believe slavery SHOULD be taught about in school. But tell the story from the beginning.That way it paints a true and honest picture. I am not wrong on this. You tell the WHOLE story if you are honest.

How African tribes herded people to the ocean, chained them up, and sold them to the Europeans.
 
I guess from now on we could teach that American involvement in WW2 began with D day. To hell with Pearl Harbor. That way we wont offend any Japanese people. :rolleyes:

Who on this thread suggested that we shouldn't teach all of the history of slavery?

Why do you think that is what this thread is about?
