Both of those songs suck beyond belief, by the way.
Yesterday, on the way to pick up some takeout,
I was listening to sports talk radio.
I don't know why.
I almost never play the radio in my car.
I like quiet.
And I'm not the sports fan that I used to be, either.
Anyway, the three co-hosts of the show happened to discuss the topic,
What is your most perfect song? One in which you wouldn't change a single note or word in the lyrics.
All three of them chose what I think were rock songs, but I never heard of any one of them.
I admit that pop culture is far from my forte.
Then I thought, "Nifty, what would your answer be?"
I came up with "Angel Eyes" by Frank Sinatra.
I could certainly be wrong,
but I'm guessing that most of you have never heard of it,
just as I never heard of their picks.
But to me, it's a perfect performance of a perfect song.
Next would be "Here's That Rainy Day" by either Frank or Tony Bennett.
Both versions were magnificent.
