No, it would take all the states to enact similar laws and then about 20-30 yrs time. People were making your stupid comment 40 yrs ago and if this happenned then it most certainly would be making a difference by now.

Wrong too. People commit crimes not tools. A firearm is a tool. Then there's technology... You can 3D print a magazine for a gun today at home. If you don't plan on using it for years, it doesn't even have to be very reusable. So, limiting magazines to 10 rounds or less is simply asinine. It assumes people are too stupid to just go around that if they want.

If you are so inclined, a small mill and a lathe are all you need to make your own firearm from scratch.

We need to focus on the people doing these crimes and figure the fuck out how to get them where they can't or won't do them, not on taking away their 'toys.'

Despite the British, you could carry any gun you wanted. The British hated it, of course, but they could not stop it. Why do you think the Battle of Lexington happened? What were the British trying to do there? Why did they lose that battle?
